Don’t you love when people don’t have any good arguments so they have to insult people, and in this case a whole community, to defend their favorite whatever.

If anything, this reassures everything I think about this whole situation surrounding the casting of Gabrielle Walsh as Ana Flores, an actress who has built her career playing Latina roles, when she is not part of the Latin community. And no, having Latino friends and going to several quinceañeras doesn't make you Latina.

Also, bold of you to assume I’m white 🙄

Anyway, sometimes this fandom is a shitshow.

All I have to say is that if Ana has even a little self-respect, she will end things before he has to.

I mean, I do hate her the actress but c'mon. If you are dating a guy and take care of his son, and he can't even introduce you as his girlfriend. Honey, I hate to break it to you, but he is not that into you.

Seriously, is painful how this woman tries to get his attention and he can't even remember this is the first time she set foot at the station.

Painful. truly painful.

Hopefully, the writers will give her something and at least will make her end things. I mean, her character is so boring that I don't know, can they make her a bit interesting and make her end things with Eddie?

okay, I totally understand we are talking about Eddie "I don't like to talk about my feelings or my too personal life" Diaz, but why on earth would you be so quick to deny your relationship is getting serious.

I mean, I don't like the woman, but she sat at your damn bedside when you were shot, probably have been with you and Buck through most of your recovery, and now is going to introduce you to her family. You and your son. And sure, she's a fake Latina and all, but on the show, she comes from a Latina family, and you guys have any idea how important is in Latin culture when you take someone with you to a family affair?

So, why Eddie, why?!

I know the answer, but still.

This is not going to last.

Also!! when the doc asks for any new stressors and Eddie says no, that everything's been great. The way he looked at Ana when he asks "right?" is so hunted, like he needs confirmation that everything is okay because he is not sure.

Of course, after being shot you cannot expect things to be perfect, but assuming this is his first panic attack, triggered by Ana saying she's not Chri's mother or whatever, I can imagine that things are not as perfect between them as it looks like.

Therefore that's why he is so fast to shut down any comment about him being serious with Ana, and could explain the way he looked at her when he says that everything is okay. The way he says "right?" got stuck on my brain.

Anyway, these were my two cents on this.

I'm a horrible human being but I can't stop laughing!

I mean he had an honest to god panic attack at the mention of Ana being Chris's mom. I mean, c'mon!!! Not even the best fanfic could never!!!!

and also, the fact that I'm done with having to see the fake Latina on my screen doesn't help with my giggles. Tim, please get rid of her soon!!!

One of my friends came to bake cookies and watch 911.

She couldn't stop laughing at how miss Gabrielle "fake Latina" Walsh, aka Ana Flores, pronounce Edmundo. which sounds very American and not Latino at all.

She wasn't surprised at all when I told her GW wasn't Latina.

Anyway, she enjoyed the eps very much and we both agreed that Eddie Diaz is one handsome SOAB.

omg! yes! you are totally right. The lack of representation is such a huge problem in the industry, that why I was so pissed of when I found out GW was not Latina. And for her to get parts just because she looks like a “stereotypical Latina” is just wrong. 

Also, people don’t get that Latin America is so diverse. The stereotype is just too much and they forget the people from the south. They don’t realize that we Latinos come in different shapes and sizes and not all of us look like Ana Flores. Half of us have light skin and blond hair and that doesn’t make us less Latinas. 

Anyway, representation is a big problem, and also the lack of knowledge about the diversity in Latin America. 

btw, I love Argentina. I Have the best memories of my holidays in Buenos Aires.

Hi luv! yeah, it was a shock for me too. I don’t know if they cast her because of her looks, although is very likely that was the reason. Also, she has a history of playing Latina roles, which is wrong on so many levels. She even said once that she feels like an honorary Mexican just because she has lots of Mexican friends and went to a lot of fiestas de 15. The disrespect is astronomical! And she has no shame!!!
