an update of sorts:

Writing Grace's story is just as unpredictable as our Gracie herself. And just as the rest of her family, sometimes we're going through rough times with her. 

That's why we have decided to refrain from a regular posting schedule as that doesn't suit our darling main character at all. We want to do her and her story of "How He Came To Be" justice and post each chapter when the time feels right.

Chapter 10: The Reason

summary:

He turned his head and looked Sherlock in the eyes for the first time in a long while. What he saw there caused a turmoil in his belly. What was this mix of emotions battling in Sherlock’s expression? At least, there were actual emotions. This wasn’t the cold Sherlock throwing him out of Baker Street. Although he'd never actually done that, had he? John had left before he could. This also wasn’t Shezza 2.0, who had wiped out all emotions by exhaustion either. This was different. It was an open and raw overload of emotions that John couldn’t unravel, let alone understand and most of all not handle! He looked away quickly.

Re: Letters from Sussex

Happy New Year, All.  I hope life is treating you well.

I wanted to give you a little update on Letters from Sussex over on Ao3.

As some of you probably recall, this story was abandoned after about 82 chapters, and I started a complete rewrite.  

  • The new version was saved under the title Letters from Sussex.
  • The original version was saved under the title Letters from Sussex - Draft.  
  • There were also a bunch of original NWS chapters saved as Letters from Sussex - The Appendices.

The original story was entirely epistolary and had chapters that were all via text, and all the images of the mobile text screens were saved externally on the now defunct Photobucket.  This means that the majority of the original draft became unreadable, and the appendices had very few if any hits anymore.  

Also, many readers who were coming fresh to the rewritten story, assumed that it was complete, which made me realise that where I had stopped off was a logical stopping point.

As a result I have done the following:

  1. Deleted the original draft.
  2. Deleted the appendices.
  3. Kept the rewritten version and marked it as complete at 43 chapters.

Note: If I decide to pick up Letters from Sussex in the future (which is pretty unlikely), I will write it as a sequel.

Very good to know. Thank you for clearing this up! Although I loved the original "draft" I completely understand the rewrite and the decisions you made!! Thank you for writing and sharing this gem of a story!! And a Happy New Year to you, too!!
