Keith Season 8 Episode 8: Clear Day part 2
Their opposite reactions are too funny lol
@the-not-so-dark-age Thank you for the ask that brightened my week :D
Awww 😢 Keith and hugs always makes me tear up because I'm just so happy for him
Like you can see how tender he is, he is so full of love and and I... I love him ❤
“Hunk, calm down, and yes, blasting.” (aka the moment I fell in love with Keith because of his stupid sassy finger-gun)
Keith being there for Hunk since day one!
Voltron: Legendary Bloopers
Behind the scenes of Season 7, Episode 9: Know Your Enemy, with Hunk Garrett and Keith Kogane.
HAHAHA 🤣🤣🤣
I love the motions of Keith going from completely shocked
to trying to comprehend what’s going on and what to do
to then relaxing into the hug
and then hugging Hunk back!!
its...just..asdfdsdf SOOO CUTE!!! It’s just so lovely and heart warming ❤️💛
As soon as this happened in that BEAUTIFUL scene in season 7 I knew I had to put these side by side!!!
Also LOOK AT KEITH’S HAIR!!! He’s grown up so much...yet is still the same in so many ways and I love that.
It’s not only this new clip that shows how much Keith cares for the team. I’ve posted it here, here, and here, but he has always been looking after everyone and constantly protecting them. It has been clear from as early as episode 1, from the time he first appeared and didn’t abandon the others.
Keith trying to make Pidge stay. I still believe he blew up not because he was angry at her, but because he knows her pain. It’s been clear from episode 1 that he had been looking for his mom- the owner of his mysterious knife. Had they decided not to become paladins of Voltron, his plan was to look for his family.
Keith encouraged Lance when his confidence was low. Keith never sucks up to anyone, he clearly believed in Lance’s talents and skills when he made him stay and left instead. If anything, that was Keith’s way of saying he believed more in Lance than in himself.
That whole Weblum episode, Keith didn’t just support Hunk, he believed in him. And when he made the wormhole jump to save Shiro in season 6, he trusted in Hunk’s calculations too.
And Allura? He protected her when they were stuck out in space, much like what he does for the team in the latest preview clip, keeping the team together. Despite how she treated him after knowing he was part Galra, Keith never treated her any differently. Never held grudges. Cheered her up and encouraged her when she made a very costly mistake in the alternate reality. Even trusted her with his life in the fight against Lotor when even Allura’s own self worth was at its lowest.
I’m excited to see more of this in Season 7, and for more people to see that how most fans has perceived Keith as hot head, aloof, and selfish isn’t what Keith is like at all. As Steven Yeun said in his interview:
“Keith is a complicated character. He operates a little differently than the other paladins. He’s not the only one with a difficult family history, but his centers around the way that he is. He’s hotheaded for a reason, and he’s very talented without a lot of ways or things that he can use to express that. His naivete mixed with his sheer will to make things happen for himself means his hotheadedness may be be viewed as a defense mechanism. He comes from an obviously difficult and mysterious past that pushes him to be great. He’s really complex and fun.”
Gonna continue the thoughts of this wonderful, incredible post by showing the screenshots of the above mentioned points, plus my own thoughts of the scenes.
The fact that it was Keith that welcomed her back to the team and not Shiro always spoke volumes to me here
When Lance was suggesting that he step down, Keith was unsure and confused as to why Lance would even suggest it as he always knew what Lance was capable of and how he was an integral part of the group.
Keith is so sweet here!! This scene always melts my heart! He was the perfect example of a leader in this episode.
I found it interesting in this episode that Allura seemed a lot more emotional than we had seen her before and more vulnerable as well. For Keith, who was used to seeing Allura as a leader alongside Shiro, this was the first time for him ever seeing Allura like this and he had to be the support her this time.
The way Keith was so protective of Allura through the “Hole in the sky” episode has always stood out to me. He reaches out to her constantly, always giving her advice and tries to help her realise that maybe Hira wasn’t as good as she seemed. Yet in the end he let Allura decide for herself and then sought her out and made sure to comfort her when things didn’t work out.
Keith is truly amazing and I am looking forward to seeing him further progress as he supports and leads his team.
I don’t know why but I’ve always loved these little frames of Keith (so much that i HAD to get them as screenshots)
maybe its just how soft and concerned he looks, it was during their first proper rescue mission as paladins of voltron and to see how he is in this episode (and all of them tbh) compared to later ones says a lot about the small growth that they all do from one mission to the next.
