The Mary’s don’t understand memes none of them do.
Josuke and Okuyasu say something and Mary 4 thinks they’re talking about a food from a different culture. (Chungus = …. Chimichanga??)
Gyro tells Mary 7 he’s got diagnosed with the life threatening disease called “Ligma” and Mary, not knowing the punchline, freaks out and worries he’ll die before Gyro yells LIGMA BALLS (he didn’t even bother to wait for her to ask what’s Ligma) and then Mary asks why she would ever lick a steel ball. That’s not food.
Narancia and Mista tell Mary 5 while she’s cooking it’s obvious she was NOT invited to the TikTok rizz party because she has 0 gyatt and no Ohio rizz or some shit. She doesn’t even bother to humor them she just hits them with a spoon.
On that note Narancia and Mista also don’t think Ohio really exists and Mary, who literally grew up in America, pulls a Fugo and smacks their heads while making them look at a geography book.

Thinks about kid Haruno and kid Mary tryna teach each other their mother tongues. Haruno knows a bit of Japanese and of course is better in Italian, while Mary is fluent in Arabic and English. Haruno tries to copy some of her Arabic words (mostly just silly expressions she adds in between her Italian) and finds them funny. I think he’d also like how she writes his name in Arabic.
Wait wait so did the gangster guy find Mary and just drag her to Italy? Or did Mary pull a Dio?

But yes, you were right! I didn’t discuss this here except with a few friends but Mary only recently became a ward of the state/foster system by the time she was ten. She didn’t have any other family/family willing to care for her in America. Gangster man ended up looking into Giorno’s family to repay him and found that Mary was basically free real estate and had her brought over to Italy to be adopted by Giorno’s family.
I mean, it’s not the best way of doing things but Mary did end up getting a family and her bestest buddy Giorno so they don’t think about it too much. Mary is the one who actually looks into it deeper when she’s older and realizes they have other half siblings (and that their dad was… a strange man), but Giorno doesn’t really gaf 😭
Summary: Haruno is surprised when he opens the door to see a random American girl waiting outside one day. Although they're supposedly related, Haruno isn't too keen on sharing his room with her or getting too comfortable with her. But... maybe this new girl isn't all that bad. Even if neither of them can speak the same language.

Suddenly, his stepfather had stopped harassing and hitting him. The neighborhood boys would no longer mock his heritage and instead invited him to sit beside them. Joke Answer: they don’t lmao.
Serious answer: Risotto had the “closest” relationship to her unrelated to strictly business due to him being hired to protect her and handle the assassination. He mostly thought she was a naive idiot for getting poisoned (yeah great job blame the teenager for not thinking she would get poisoned 🤪) but saw hints of a hidden strength within. Their time together was brief and Mary took more out of it than he did honestly. He was shocked she genuinely wanted to not only stop him from killing the woman who orchestrated her downfall but also pay him back. So technically we should blame Risotto for dragging Mary into the crime worl- (gets shot).
Prosciutto isn’t too keen on getting information from her because he’s capable of doing so on his own. Pesci is tempted and has met her before (okay he thought she’d be scary but tbh she was just a normal woman?) but Prosciutto tried to shut that down to get Pesci to grow on his own.
Formaggio casually addresses her on the street sometimes, acting like they’re friends and stuff. Mary blows his ass off when he wants to invite her over to watch a football game. He does just randomly ask about someone for information but Mary refuses to give it easily to him unless he gives her something. Illuso hasn’t interacted much with her, finding himself too good to talk to her.
Mary actively avoids Melone because he goes gaga over her and believes she’ll make an amazing “mother” to Baby Face and ngl no one blames her 💀 They refuse to send him and Melone gets sad because whyyyyyy he just wants to make a standdddd. Ghiaccio doesn’t always visit her until a last resort. If he feels she’d have something useful, he reaches out to her to ask for it for his plans. He doesn’t like to do so, but he’s self-aware enough to recognize if he needs extra help. She finds him pleasant enough until she accidentally uses a phrase that makes him break a lamppost.
I’ve been debating showing you this, but I’m just going to bite the bullet and do it.

How tall is Part 5 Mary and what are the flowers on her dress?
5’5 normally, 5’7-5’8 with heels (she is killing Giorno for being younger and taller than her). About the flowers I have 0 clue actually I only got the idea of the flower print design from a photo of a dress. Pretty sure they’re carnations (I have them as red carnations).

Meet Mary Giovanna’s stand- Venus!
Still working out the kinks but I’m thinking of having its ability being able to have Mary “act” like another. Using its special hand mirror, Mary can gain the personality and thought process of whoever was reflected inside it.
Another idea I had was to have Venus’s mirror allow Mary to make objects/props into weapons she can use (ie, grabbing a stick can make it as durable and strong as a sword).
Again, still a WIP but compared to the other designs… I think I like mermaid best 💖

Sooo to continue off that post, after Mary recovers, she’s obviously heartbroken and angry over what happened since she was clearly sabotaged by her fellow actress.
The owner of the theater she was performing at had ties to Passione since his theater was a cover up for some illicit activities as well as a place where members could talk privately or get paid to protect the property. Since Mary was wronged and was someone he cared for like a daughter/granddaughter, he called in a few favors to get La Squadra involved.

Regarding his dreams of becoming a gang-star to eventual Boss, she’s neutral on it. She’s not in favor or against it, it’s mostly a “whatever Giorno wants, Giorno can get” mentality. She’ll support him regardless, since she recognizes she has ties to the mafia so she can’t exactly tell him no without looking hypocritical as hell.
Since her dream to become a famous prima donna was dashed, she doesn’t really have much else going on, so she reckons she has nothing to lose by supporting her baby brother. Mary just wants him to be alive and safe by the end of it, and everything else comes second to that. If he can achieve his dream, then that’ll make her happy, too.
Mary 4 the type of sibling to sigh whenever Josuke breaks in enters her house through the windows but then allow him to stay and eat ice cream and watch reality tv shows with her after Tomoko yelled at him or he had a tough day. She’ll be more relaxed and will give it straight than Tomoko probably would, but she will just shrug after and be like, ‘well, I’m not your mom so do whatever, I guess.’
Mary 5 the type of sibling to bully the hell out of Giorno (lovingly) and complain he’s being a moron and she has to care for him since he OBVIOUSLY can’t, but will always buy him his favorite gelato or whatever whenever she is out. She just ‘happened’ to buy one but wasn’t hungry anymore. Always trying to be the ‘cool’, older sister even though Giorno knows she’s a dweeb. She loves Giorno very much but she hates showing him how vulnerable and insecure she is deep down, because she’s supposed to be the older and mature one he can rely on.
