  • Crisps vs Chips: I gotta admit, the Brits have this one. They're thin slices of potato that have been made crispy. No chipping of any materials involved.
  • Car Park vs Parking Lot: Equally matched. What's a car park? A place to park cars. What's a parking lot? An otherwise empty lot where you can park.
  • Elevator vs Lift: Both equally fail to address that the damn thing also goes down.

Only slightly related - the GIFs above are all visuals from the video game Return of the Obra Dinn. The game is by the same guy as Papers, Please and is about an insurance investigator trying to uncover the mystery behind the Obra Dinn, a ship that left with a full crew and returned devoid of life and in tatters. The player goes backward and forward through time and uses clues in each scene to fill out a list of crewmates and their various means of death. It’s a very fun game, especially with friends!

Man I have to remember that when I'm playing pre dual analog stick games that I need to play something more modern also. Cause let me tell you, while Tales of Phantasia on its own is just fine, deciding that this is the perfect time to sit down and play the Tomb Raider remaster with its tank controls as well has been murder on my poor thumb 😭

#god that directional pad is killing me#pad of my thumb is so tender from how hard im unintentionally been pressing down on the buttons to control it#and ive only been playing the first tomb raider for two days#and yes i do fully realize that the remaster collection has modern controls as well#but ive tried them and with the way the jumps you have to make are designed and the timinig needed before they can be executed#tank controls are really the only way to go#that being said i have used the modern controls a couple of times for more freedom of movement while running#cause while jumping is not great man can i control her better when running#so its been a lifesaver on a couple of trophies where i needed movement to be more fluid
