Beautiful commissioned art by the wonderful @loulines. This is a moment from my Taskmaster mermaid AU fanfic "Fragile Life in Llyn Tegid" (also available as a podfic), where Alex is a marine biologist in 1970's Wales, and Greg is the mysterious monster living within the lake's depths.

Romantic, scary, some dramatic action hero behaviour, and a happy ending.

Look at the LIGHTING on this! And the gold speckles! Grueg's concerned expression! And the drifts of red algae! But also the lighting! Have I mentioned the lighting?! Lou was a delight to work with, genuinely.

Does anyone know about any alternatives to PayPal for art commissions that work also outside of the US? Those fckers are so greedy, especially when it comes to exchanging USD to my local currency, and they won't even let me connect to my bank subaccount in $. I guess it's so that they can force their piss poor exchange rate on their customers which brings them even more money. Like I get that they need to make money from offering their services but come on, taking nearly 8% off every transaction for themselves is just evil.

So yeah I'm looking for some better and safe alternatives to handle the transactions because PayYoureNotMyPalBro is pissing me off.

Sometimes, in fact a lot of the time, cutting contact with someone feels terrible.

You might feel guilty over what they're experiencing. You might miss them, and be grieving the loss of that relationship (which is still valid by the way, even if you chose to end it.) Sometimes it's that you feel lonely without that person. Or you're missing something in your life.

Often, the people we cut out did add something to our lives, even if the negative outweighed the positive. Maybe they were the person you sent funny cat memes to without second thought, and now you have to adjust to not having that anymore. You see those cat memes, and feel the instinctive urge to send it and have to catch yourself. And now, you just scroll on. Maybe they were the person that you messaged each week when that specific show aired and you knew they were watching it too. Maybe you don't even want to watch that show anymore because it hurts.

This is a reminder that even if it feels terrible, there's a reason you did it. And it's worth it. It might take a long time to feel like it's worth it, but eventually it will. It isn't always easy to leave someone. I think in most cases, it's actually really hard, even if you know it's best for you. Stay strong in your decision. You made it for a reason.

The grieving stage still hasn't ended for me but I know that I made a good decision when I let go of what was once a very close friendship. It took a very long time to accept the reality, which has become toxic and abusive. I did everything I could and I tried my best. It didn't work out. Instead of fixing the friendship, it was making my mental health worse despite thinking otherwise, and I had to do something because I was very close to hitting rock bottom.

Even though I'm doing better now, even writing this is still making me tear up. I still have to deal with trauma. I know that one day I'll move on completely but I am aware that it's not today. So I still get missing hours sometimes. I still wonder how that person is doing even though in the end it's best for me that I don't know. But that's okay. I'm gonna patiently wait for the memories to fade away and enjoy the present and the friendships I have.

The sketch is over a year old, I think, but I couldn't finish it until now because of a severe artblock and burnout. I was doing very bad mentally. But I think the worst is over, I'm in a slightly happier place, medicated, and away from people who were poisoning my life, and there were quite a few of them.

It's a simpler drawing because I wanted to show what "flat shading" style will look like if you request it in a commission. I still have 3 slots left so come and get it if you want a special discount! 🌚 More info here.

I'm opening commissions!

Hello everyone!

I recently made a post where I talked about considering opening commissions. A couple of months ago I became a full-time freelancer and I'm doing graphic design privately but I also wanted to go back to drawing. And I've received asks from some of you that you'd be willing to commission me 🥹

I've spent the past few weeks working on my rates, terms, and all that stuff. I'm honestly dealing with a massive imposter syndrome right now but I tried to make the prices as reasonable as possible, and true to the amount of work I put into each drawing. For the first 5 slots* I also have a special 15% discount! I will post additional info and terms soon but you can find the most important stuff on the poster. I can also answer any questions regarding what I can and cannot draw, payment process, drawing process etc.

Oh, payment is via Paypal.

I don't know how to end this post aside from saying that I will work hard on any commission I receive! 💪

I was working on my commission rates post when I realized I'm in desperate need to update my portfolio. Oeps. While I have a lot of fully rendered stuff, my simpler drawings and sketches are all over the place style-wise so I need to get consistent with that. This piece is more or less how I'm gonna handle sketch commissions (if I ever get any).

Fandom-wise I'm completely OOTL so I don't know what's going on here lol. I've watched Ahsoka, TBB too, I dropped Acolyte after episode 2 because I was busy but I don't feel like returning to it yet 😅 Also House of The Dragon and KDramas have completely possessed me. I kinda want to draw HOTD and Game of Thrones fanart too.

I'm trying my best to finish my commission info as soon as possible but I kinda got stuck doing 10 different things at once because I'm desperate to earn some money. I'm broke.

Aww, thank you 🥺🙏 I really miss drawing and being active here in general, although I've missed out on a lot of the fandom stuff. I need to catch up, lol.

I don't have a price list yet but I'll make one very soon! I need to think it through because I'm always very anxious about my rates and I overthink everything 😅

Hi, I don't know when you sent this message so apologies for not replying! But thank you for your ask ❤️

I know my blog is dead because I haven't posted anything relevant here in ages (the past 2 years have been a complete mess). I resigned from my job last year and ever since, I've been trying to work as a freelancer, but it's a tough world. Needless to say I'm struggling, lol.

I've been thinking for a while about coming back to drawing and opening commissions again, since I have plenty of time from lack of work. But I don't know if anyone would be interested anymore. So I just thought about doing an interest check first. If anyone would be interested in commissioning me, please let me know ❤️
