There’s a lot I could say about the send off of Steven Universe. My opinions and critiques. But I want to stick to the positives right now. I started watching the show in third grade, and I experienced almost every emotion as I grew up with the episodes. Anger, sadness, humor, joy. I burst into tears alongside my mom when we watched the movie together. As I knew how it felt to be abandoned, and the pain of wondering what you did, and the pain knowing you hurt the people who truly cared about you, the movie really hit me hard. Spinel is easily one of my favorite characters alongside Peridot and Pearl.
I know this isn’t *really* the end of the Steven Universe franchise, and I’m sure there will be more content in books/comics/shorts/etc. But the end of the show is something that is going to be remembered for a long time. In my opinion, this is one of the shows that will be talked about for years after its end. I’m happy to have grown up with Steven, and make memories just as he did.
