In the final episode of Rapunzel’s Tangled Adventure, Rapunzel faces her greatest challenge yet that will not only decide her fate and destiny, but the fate of everyone she loves and cares for the most.
With this being my last ever Tangled Thought post I just want to say that it has been such an honour and a real pleasure getting to express my thoughts about almost all of the Tangled episodes since I started writing two years ago since season 2. Tangled has always been one of my favourite shows and although I am greatly saddened that the series is finally over, I will never forget all the excitement, humour, love and adventure we have all had the pleasure to witness over these last three years. It’s been one heck of a ride, a ride of which we will never forget and will always and forever treasure in our hearts. Anyway let’s get started.
This was an epic, unbelievable and downright amazing series finale, no doubt one of the best I have ever seen. Right from the very beginning I felt the excitement and intensity throughout as Rapunzel and all her friends and loved one prepared for their final and most deadliest battle of their lives. There are so many amazing moments that I almost don’t know where to start, but I will say that I loved all the family moments. Rapunzel and Arianna, Varian and Quirin and of course, Eugene and Edmund. It was great getting to see all those family feels one last time and their bonds were stronger than ever. However, it wasn’t just the bonds of family, but the bonds of friendship too as thanks to Rapunzel’s encouragement through song, she and everyone were ready to take back their kingdom. The final New Dream Moments were amazing to watch. Rapunzel and Eugene’s Love was stronger than ever throughout the episode and I loved how Rapunzel mentioned the previous proposals. Plus hearing Edmund refer to her as his future daughter-in-law and was AWESOME. I loved King Edmund in this episode. I wish we could have seen more of him this season, but his moments with Eugene were incredible and a nice twist too. I can’t believe he was also under the influence of the Mind stone too. Should have seen that coming.
The battle between Rapunzel and Cassandra was intense that’s for sure and I was in shock witnessing when Zhan Tiri succeed in finally acquiring the Sundrop and Moonstone, restoring Cassandra back to normal and Rapunzel becoming a brunette again. I loved seeing her with her long hair brown. Cassandra has finally learned to open herself up to others as she broken down over everything she did and finally apologized. It’s About time. However, while I enjoyed seeing the reconciliation between Rapunzel and Cassandra. I loved seeing Eugene open up to his father, admitting how he resented him for sending him away until finally understanding his decision. My point, I loved the emotion from Eugene and his moment with his father. Also, seeing everyone in the lost releam was both weird and funny and I loved the flashback with Zhan Tiri and Demanitus. The final showdown with Zhan Tiri was epic and it was all a team effort. However, thanks to Rapunzel and Cassandra, Zhan Tiri was finally defeated for good after recalling Adira’s earlier warnings when the Sundrop and Moonstone finally do come together. It was a sight to be seen. It was epic. It was just absolutely magnificent. Zhan Tiri was defeated, the Sundrop and Moonstone are whole once more and the original trio were back together. Also seeing Rapunzel chanting the Healing Incantation was a sight for sore eyes.
By the end of the episode, it’s amazing how far everyone has come since the beginning and like Eugene said the real happily ever after had arrived. Rapunzel will make Corona proud as Queen as will Eugene as the new Captain of the Royal Guard. Varian was made the official Royal Scientist/Alchemist and succeeded with his goal to bring hot running water to the kingdom all with his father by his side. Lance ended up adopting Angry and Red and they are now one big happy family and King Edmund alongside Adira and Hector returned to the Dark Kingdom to restore their home to glory. Of course, Cassandra go her happy ending too, deciding to leave Corona to find out where she truly belongs with Fidella and Owl accompanying her. Plus the reprise of Life After Happily Ever After is definitely my favourite song of this last episode and it was amazing to see almost every single character that has ever appeared on the show altogether during this last song.
Finally though, the Moment That Every New Dream Fan Has Waited for Finally Happened. During the very last few minutes of the episode, it Finally Happened. After 3 years of waiting and a few failed attempts, Rapunzel and Eugene at Long Last Finally Got Engaged. In a romantic boat ride very similar to their first date/I See the Light all those years ago, Eugene recalled the promise he made to Rapunzel in Before Ever After and presented her with a new engagement ring and she at last said YES which lead to a final romantic PASSIONATE kiss between them. It’s also official, Rapunzel and Eugene’s “engagement rings” are actually their wedding rings.
Overall, This Was Just An Amazing Finale. Although I will admit there were still some questions I wish could have been answered, I am still incredibly happy nonetheless with everything that happened in this episode. I will miss the series, but Tangled will always and forever remain in our hearts. I also want to thank some incredible Tangled fans who have given us such great content over the years during the show’s run. Thank you, @tangledbea, @gleamful-lanterns, @tangledinart, @kelseyfitzherbert, @tangledaddict, @tangledgal and so many more amazing fans out there who have made this fandom just so much fun to be apart of.
