You got any green moths?
Hell yeah!! Green moths for Kor 💚
starting off strong with some wavy-lined emeralds, Synchlora aerata
guacamole moth jk it's a green leuconycta, Leuconycta diphteroides and a green marvel, Agripodes fallax
Next we have what I think is a mottled prominent, Macrurocampa marthesia, and a black-dotted glyph, Maliattha synochitis
a green pug, Pasiplila rectangulata and a stinging rose caterpillar moth, Parasa indetermina
and of course, the infamous luna moth, Actius luna!
I saw a moth resting on the outside of my window, and remembered that you like moths, so I took some photos.
I hope you like them.
Oh what a beautiful little fellow! I love them very much thank you <3
Are there any moths with eyespots?
There are MANY :D
The most notable I've personally gotten so far are several io moths!
A lot of moths' eyespots are hidden when at rest, but they'll pop their wings open if disturbed.
Lots of Sphingids like this small eyed sphinx do the same (my photo on the right, preserved specimen on the left)
And it's very common among giant silk moths like this luna moth!
Probably the king of eyespots in Northeast America (my region) is the Polyphemus moth, another giant silk moth. I haven't gotten any yet but I am very much hoping to!
