Can you make a close up video of the scene where the guard scans Ellie positive and she stabs him in the leg? I love how she apologizes before she does it. A close up would be nice! I love your blog so much!!!

Playing with this scene, I noticed that when Ellie is out of frame at 0:49, she flinches at the sound of the gun going off in Joel's hand when he shoots the guard in the head. We couldn't see it in the original cutscene, and it only shows how shocked Ellie was to witness the "harshness" of Joel and Tess's characters. She's never met anyone like them, and now she's alone with these people.

Remember how in the show they made Ellie enjoy seeing Joel beat the guard to death? That was bullshit. This is the real Ellie. The one that flinches at a gunshot and is SHAKEN by what she sees.

if puns let me add some details, I wanna highlight Joel's face building up.

1. His horrified expression at the so sudden struggle noises beside him, he's scared shitless of turning around and find something that would be bring up years of trauma buried

2. Then it's confusion, what the fuck is happening. Why is this little girl fighting with a militar.

Then is pure cold-blooded range. Whatever it is, this uniformed dude is aiming at her and about to shoot her without blinking. And he won't let that happen again.

this is such a telling line, even as casual as it is.

despite the tension between them, ellie never denied people when they referred to joel as her “old man”, or thought they were related. in fact, she probably secretly loved it.

even though at this point she and joel are at odds with each other (she’s about to tell him off in front of everyone so this is like the climax of their separation before the final conversation), it doesn’t even cross her mind to correct jesse. she’s contemplative after jesse tells her this (if you watch the scene), but she’s contemplative about the fact that joel is onto jesse, not jesse’s verbage because she nods to herself and asks him “what happened?”.

the whole of jackson probably sees them this way.
