when im playing a game alone and theres danger i am quiet and stoic, by necessity. when im playing with friends and theres danger i start screaming and sqwuaking like a chimp to communicate over long distance that there is danger and i am distressed. This is because humans are social animals who evolved to live in groups and signal to eachother when herobrine is there
Have I fulfilled the mission objectives properly? Yes, Hal. You've done very well.
The art history version of “you’d look prettier if you smiled more”
you know what? fuck this *un-smiles your painting*
HAD to keep @furbearingbrick 's tag:
He gave her softer eyes, bigger breasts, a sweet inviting smile, narrower arms and wrists, and a less emphatic chin. A complacent and Proper Maiden for his smug consumption.
That is NOT what the artist painted.
The artist painted the cleaned image. Thank goodness and highly skilled people that we get to see it.
I'm so mad that the restored version is cropped in the photos there. I badly wanted to see the whole background cleaned. That SKY. SHOW ME IT.
NEVERMIND. The fucker who added boobs and a coy smile also pasted on a whole strip of new canvas at the top and slapped a skyline on there. o_0
Wow. The Kind of Guy(tm) who would do that really hasn't changed.
And the best headline of the year goes to….
you guys I found the article and it’s fantastic
they did in-depth interviews with 137 scientists and about 35% of them mentioned Dawkins unprompted, and about 80% of those were apparently just desperate to tell someone how much they hate him
28% of scientists hate Richard Dawkins so much that they just start spouting off about his bullshit unprompted.

I was rambling on the issue of museums and human remains and how certain populations are more likely to have their bodies put on display to be gawked at and then went "well I guess the Pompeii casts were of Europeans. there are bones in there right?" and Googled it to make sure, at which point I confirmed that yes there are bones in there, but more interestingly DNA testing revealed that a cast of an adult holding a child everyone assumed was a mother and child were, in fact, a man and a kid entirely unrelated to him. Honestly that's more moving to me. Maybe they were connected in a way other than blood, but maybe a stranger saw a child when the world was ending and thought the one thing he could do was hold them.
How do they keep making later and later stages of late-capitalism

By the way, the southeastern USA is considered a humid subtropical climate. Alabama and Tennessee and Georgia and the Carolinas and Tennessee and all that stuff, that's considered to be subtropical instead of regular "temperate"
For some reason I did not know this. Maybe it just seemed too "exotic."
The funniest part of gaining plant knowledge is realizing that regular people in the states I've been in think the place they live is just, boring and normal.
Like, NO! You live in a paradise of rare, exotic biodiversity! Kentucky has the world's most extensive cave system full of rare cave animals evolved to live in a sunless underworld! Do you know where these grow wild?
NORTH CAROLINA
that's the secret! every place on earth is interesting, unique, and beautiful in a way no other place is!

We believe the issue of advertising causes enough mixed incentives that it is crucial to have a competitive search engine that is transparent and in the academic realm.”
