Elrond and Elros often ends up sleeping in Maedhros' and Maglor's bed after a nightmare
This would probably be therapeutic to everyone, because allfour suffer from nightmares.
But I could totally see both twins running to their favoriteparent, and refusing to come out of the room until they saw the sun. Like Elroswrapping his small body around Maedhros’s stumped arm like a life source, and Elrondwrapping his arms around Maglor’s neck and nearly suffocating him to death.
And of course the twins ease their nightmares. Maedhro’ssleeps easier with Elros sleeping on his body, and Maglor sleeps easier withElrond around his neck.
