What it is:
Drawing energy from the night (Darkness, Moon phases, stars ect.)
What it’s not:
Doing witchcraft at night/in the dark
Intro:
Being a Nocturnal witch means that you practice your craft using the nights energies. A lot of this type of craft focuses on drawing out the energies of the night for then or later use. For a few examples… you can make Moon water and save it to make tea later in the morning. You can use the energies of the night through sigils to charge you. The stars shine bright and look pretty, use their energy for glamours.
Opening the connection between you and the night
- Make a calming tea: Peppermint or green tea (here’s a link to my own peppermint and orange peel tea recipe)
- Light incense
- Drink Moon water
- Draw sigils on your hands or wrists before starting anything
- Light candles (have their colours correspond with a moon phase or correspond with the night)
- Do a tarot spread (Moon phase tarot spreads )
- Do candle divination in the dark

Ideas for where to use nocturnal witchcraft
- Divination: Make tarot spreads that correspond with moon phases
-Dream magick: As you close up other stuff for the night, practice some dream magick by making sachets for your pillows for example
- Use Moon water in tea, cooking or in spells
- Make sigils related to the night, as you sleep they will absorb the darkness and the current moon phase and then when it’s day, the signs intent will be released until sundown.
-Cosmic witchcraft: the night is perfect for astrology ! Why not take some of the energies from specific stars or planets?

Witches please, to your altars
Please burn your green candles, say your prayers, do your spells for the Amazon right now. It's burning and has been for weeks, media refuses to cover it, the most diverse ecosystem that harbors beautiful creatures, plantlife, 20% of our oxygen is dying and going up in flames.
I hope something is done soon. My heart is aching
Give your intent, give your focus, donate if you can, and don’t give up.
♡ crystal witch, star witch, sea witch, floral witch ♡
For my water, sea, and elemental witches out there. I thought it was silly at first, but the video was pretty interesting. I want to do more research, but I think it’s good food for thought if you’re doing a spell involving water.
Can’t remember what book I found this in but it’s a good reminder
Update: thanks to @exobiologist who found the name of the book and authors. It’s ‘how to become a witch’ by Amber K. And Azrael arynn K.
