How about a police officer Danny. Danny need to protect people as part of his obsession, but being a vigilante doesn't exactly pay. So his parents suggest going into civil service. Originally he wanted to be a fire fighter but the heat was too much for him and his ice core. So he settle on being a cop.

He originally starts in Amity, where his hero identity is now an open secret. His parents are proud of him, they know he's Phantom too. Amity doesn't have much human crime so now he just wrangled ghosts as a cop mostly.

Some kids decided to start posting online. Things like who needs heros when our cop got it covered; accompanied by videos of Danny in uniform taking down ghosts and such. A few post of "acab but this one he gets it" and it's Danny helping an old lady crossing the street or volunteering at a soup kitchen.

Of course the videos catch the league's attention. Now they need to investigate the situation and maybe recruit this cop.

amity park (if they knew): our cop is dead/half dead and is the best we could have asked for, so the ACAB people are right, a good cop is a dead cop (?)

Actually, my therapist has told me this is a healthy way of processing things. Because you can get the trauma out of your head And you can write the ending you wish it had. The trusted person rescue, the catharsis of getting to kill the one who hurt you.

It's good for your brain. It's healthier than bottling it up. Fiction is where we go for emotional release. That can be true with trauma too.

so what you're saying is

character: NO

As a therapist, I can really say this: YES

I decided Danny needed a fire core AU where the portal accident blew up the entire block, condemned all of Amity, and was left to haunt it for 100 years before Sam and Tuck find him 🥰 for enrichment

Hooooo great art! 💜💚💜

I am curious about this AU especially on 2 points:

  • how does vlad react to all this in this timeline?
  • how did Danny's accident happen if Tucker and Sam weren't there?

On the other hand, I can totally see Tucker and Sam going ghost hunting together and finding Danny both being in the mode: Oh no, he/she is hot

Can Danny see the Forbidden Shrimp Colors?

Like, as Phantom.

Because his eyes are goo.

They are not ACTUALLY human eyes with human limitations, nor possess human eye rods and cones etc. They are human SHAPED Ectoplasmic goo. That is working as the "Eye sight" area of his goo body. Honestly, it's the same question with his hearing etc. But SPECIFICALLY?

Does he get? Some sort of FULL spectrum sight?

Do ghosts and ghosts ALONE... see the world as it ACTUALLY is? Actually, genuinely, looks like? I know humans can tell apart more shade of green then most if not all other species. And a host of other things. But other animals have specialized sight too.

Do ghosts just get? All of it? Because that's just... Sight.

They no longer NEED specialized this or that, to hunt for food or escape predators. Their bodies are no longer bound by species specific limitations. Unless they, you know, felt like it.

Just?

Imagine what that must be LIKE? You transform and the world transforms with you. Everything becoming technicolor. BEYOND color. Depth and complexity, shades you don't have names for. The sky, the grass, trees and the BIRDS in them. All completely different.

An ocean of Shades, peacefully wandering along. Never destined to become Ghosts. Heading towards this afterlife or that. Some just sitting and watching the birds. Not even from just humans. The ground is covered by the Shades of plants long past. There are birds long gone floating along, off to some bird afterlife.

You can't even touch them.

They're like mist. Visible, but as solid as water vapor and reflecting light. They disappear when you transform back.

You can SEE more of space, of the atmosphere and the magnetic fields, of the folds of reality itself, then you ever thought were possible. You'll NEVER be able to put a name to even a fraction of the colors or shades. It's beautiful. Dances.

It's also gone when you transform back.

You won't be able to hear it anymore either. Or any other song and sound that rings out. That hums and buzzes, rumbles and croons. It will feel like climbing back inside a box too small for you and shutting the lid. Right up until it doesn't. Because the brain is a powerful thing, and you always seem to forget, how MUCH everything is.

Because you'd be unable to take it, if you couldn't let it go. If you couldn't keep forgetting. If being human didn't fit.

But it's cool.

You can see shrimp colors.

Avatar

Mmmmmmmmmmmmm yes.

Someone asks Danny what his favorite color is and he just

"Oh, it's the color the sky turns like, two minutes before the sun completely sets."

"...blue?"

"...nnno? it's not blue."

Total disconnect before he realizes that he's talking to a human with fleshy human eyes.

Avatar

Random: or do you mean the green seconds that happen to be visible from time to time after sunset?

Danny who wanted to say that again but who won't have anything so close: yes, yes exactly, the green rays of the sunset!!! That’s totally what I wanted to talk about!

I bet the spread farther then our human eyes can see! So the sun turns GREEN to him? ON TOP of the aurora borealis type effects that are probably? Just? Always THERE.

In shades outside of the human color spectrum.

And? As someone pointed out? As a halfa? He probably DOESNT get Full Ghost Sight? Even as a ghost? So even the wonders of all this is just half of what he's SUPPOSED to see?

Like? Does the Zone even LOOK like what's shown? Or is Danny missing depth perception? Shades of green? Is he basicly half color-blind? Trying to navigate around a world that has color based mapping?

I bet Frostbite eventually notices. During some routine check up. Danny takes some blast to the face. Something acidic or mildly poisonous, where Frostbite could see it happen. And he rushed over to flush it out with melt water before it does damage. While his foraging party (they were looking for medical herbs to refine) lay a BEAT DOWN) on the bastard Danny was fighting.

Still. Mandatory check up time! Gotta make sure there was no damage to the eyes, nose, lungs, etc!

And then? :O

Danny? Half BLIND, by Ghost standards! Dear ANCIENTS! It's the equivalent of only seeing everything as EXTREMELY blurry smugs! Oh. Oh, Frostbite must cast himself into the VOID! He is a TERRIBLE doctor! *distraught yeti weeping and rending of clothes*

Which is how Phantom ends up with a wrap around visor.

Glasses legit weren't strong enough. So Frostbite went to the Deep Zone for some alien tech. Got some ADANVED medical grade vision correction.

Danny is dizzy AF afterwords. Has to take breaks. Because it's So MUCH. The colors feel hypersaturated. Everyone has those invisible lines on their body, but now he can SEE them. The birds are different shades. There ARE Shades.

Fuckin ANGELS. Other things! All of them a step to the left, right, upside down and sideways. Going about their business. Guiding souls to here or there. Chillaxing in trees.

He can SEE where natural Portals are going to open up. Because they look like shoddy little doors. Trailing awkwardly away into nothing. Collapsing even as they are building themselves out of the ectoplasm around them. And it's? It's so CROWDED. Alive.

Amity is just a little town out in the countryside. Hardly the sticks, but it's not that big. Yet? When he can SEE? It's like a CITY. He can hear and see and smell and TASTE AND-!

Then he turns back and everything feels... deafeningly quite. It almost RINGS. Because he knows it's all still there. He just can't touch. Heck, even when he's Phantom, he can't touch it. But... but it's so ALIVE. Layered. Like technicolor paintings that breath, stacked on top of each other endlessly.

And he kinda GETS why so many ghosts, WANT to come through the portal now.

He thought the ZONE was Chaotic. Was loud and crazy and intense. But it's not. Compared to THIS? It's Calm. Slow, soothing, and eternal. Unchanging. It is Death. THIS is Life. Chaos and movement and cacophonous noise. Everything the Zone could never be.

And there are so, SO many colors.

um, but when is there overstimulation here? After all, I am far from the only person who develops headaches due to too much light.

Haunted Library

A long time ago Ghostwriter and Phantom had some kind of rivalry with each other, the ghost was still upset with the halfa for sending him to prison while the halfa was still upset about being forced to celebrate christmas.

The ghosts watched them closely on days of truce, waiting for them to behave; the other days however, weren't their problem, so the rivalry just continued to grow.

Until eventually they got tired of fighting and made a deal of sorts, which ended with Danny opening a library in Gotham; It turns out that Ghostwriter had wanted to open one in the human world since a long time, but there were many things that prevented it, such as being human for example.

So yes, Danny ended up owning a giant library full of mini-portals to the Infinite Realms, Ghostwriter lectured him for hours on the proper handling of books, and while he didn't directly give out the originals there were plenty of copies of unpublished works, courtesy of the ghost personal library.

Danny doubted that people would pay much attention to such copies since those could be borrowed but not taken from the place or they would have an angry ghost haunting them.

Upon learning of the announcement of a new library the bats were suspicious, but they put it as a minimum priority. Noticing this, Jason couldn't help but take an interest and check it out for himself.

The place turned out to be excellent, albeit understaffed if you count the owner being the only one present managing everything, but the place was huge, Jason couldn't help but feel like a little kid in a candy store: this was so organised! the chairs were also comfortable! the atmosphere and decorations helped to feel relaxed too.

He cleared his throat in embarrassment at his own thoughts before heading to the Jane Austen section, gaping at the sight of copies of first editions and some books that hadn't even been published, how was that possible?

He looked at the owner but he only greeted him with a smile and decided to look away from him; In the end, he decided that this library would be his, perhaps not directly, but no one could approach such a sacred place with bad intentions. Not even the bats.

And as such, both Danny and an invisible Ghostwriter looked at Red Hood routinely coming in to read on some couch, no one else seemed concerned so they just let it be.

Danny was pretty sure he was the same guy who came to him in the morning asking for recommendations, the corrupted ectoplasm of him was a bit of a giveaway, but the guy was cute, so he just let it slide.

Prompt #8

When Bruce walked into the dining room that day, he wasn't expecting to see a kid who looked like he could be mistaken for one of his other children. Nor did he expect Cass to tell him that she had adopted him. Even Damien seemed to like him!

Cass couldn't really tell you why she took in the teen, other than the fact that he was traumatized and looked like a gremlin, and was prime Bruce adoption material.

Danny was just very scared of this house, why did everybody have signs of having had contact with Ectoplasm???

Ancient Siblings (dpxdc thought)

So y'all know the trope where Danny, as Phantom, is perceived as thousands of years old due to time traveling shenanigans?

During an interaction with another hero (could be the Batfam, could be the JL, who knows), Danny lets it slip that he has a living sister. He doesn't mention her by name, but in just a couple sentences makes it clear that he has a sister that he has known for much of his life. The thing about this prompt is that there are two people that it could lead to.

The easy solution is Danielle, Phantom's little sister. Similar looks, similar power set, could probably fake being fairly old with some help from the ghosts in the zone.

The hard solution is Jazz, his big sister.

Jazz with her towering figure (due to her Dad's genetics), great physical strength (due to her liminality), skill in combat (due to training from her mother and perhaps some swordsmanship from Pandora), and strong sense of justice (due to being on a vigilante team) and human psychology.

Jazz who, through a series of coincidences and matching aspects, could feasibly be mistaken for an Amazon that left Themysicra in favor of Man's World.

The heroes are scrambling to figure out how an undead, interdimensional being at least three millennia old ended up meeting an Amazon and when they decided to call themselves brother and sister. How did these two decide to find family in each other, of all people?!

For her part, Jazz thinks it's hilarious, and would love to get a set of armor to fully commit to the bit.

Jazz: your majesty, I would like to prank your daughter

Jazz has no clue what Hippolyta’s saying btw— no clue. None.

I’m clarifying this because she was not expecting for Wonder Woman to apologize to her for “forgetting her dear aunt”….

What the fuck has Hippolyta been telling people?!

Avatar
lolottes

Danny: So my sister is your aunt.

Diana: Yes?

Danny: So that makes me your adoptive uncle?

Diana: I guess

Danny: So you can discourage Batman from adopting me and therefore adopt your adoptive uncle or even your aunt, it would be embarrassing if he becomes your great uncle or something like that, right?

Diana: If you needed help with this you could have asked for this, no needs "I'm your uncle" card you know

Danny emotional: And that's why you're the best (after jazz)

A fic based on this prompt by @chaoswarfare that I had originally put in the reblogs, but decided to move to its own post since I've got some ideas to continue it. No promises on this ever being a completed fic, but I'll try.

A King in Arkham

Listless eyes trace the cracks in the ceiling; their owner blinking slowly from his place, lying nearly motionless on a thin mattress supported by a metal shelf held to the wall by thick black chains. His face is blank, not sad nor angry nor despairing like so many others in this cold and lonesome place. No, his expression is empty, as though there is simply nothing to feel.

Bruises and scratches and even a couple very deep cuts litter a small body. Were anyone watching, they'd see a new one appear as if by magic across a gaunt cheek. Even as blood begins weeping from the slash, not a single emotion flits across the face. Not even a flinch.

Tomorrow, doctors will assume the patient cut himself. They will search his cell, again, and find no weapon. They will search his body and find not so much as a fingernail capable of creating the mark. They will check the security feed and find, as always, that the moment of injury glitches; one second no cut, the next fresh blood. They will try to force the patient to admit self harm, but he will remain silent.

When the door to his cell swings open with a buzz and a clang, echoed by every other cell in the building, the blank faced boy with dull eyes doesn't move. It's the 6th time this month, and the 13th since arriving 3 months ago.

When the sounds of screams and rioting grate on sensitive ears, he merely sighs, the first hint of feeling flashing across his face in the form of a minute second of frustration before blankness returns. When a pair of escaping patients rush past, one stopping to ask if he's coming, he remains unresponsive.

"Leave him! Kid never tries to escape. He's to far gone."

The kid in question feels his eyebrow twitch. He's not 'gone' anywhere, thank you very much. There's just no point. Nowhere to go. No one to help him; to understand that he's not crazy, just haunted. At least, no one who won't turn him into a monster. A horrible, world destroying, viscious monster.

Besides, Arkham's not too bad. At least it isn't a GIW lab. And his rogues have even started showing up less and less since he was sent here! Though maybe that has less to do with Arkham or Gotham and more to do with the kid's utter refusal to even defend himself.

"Now come on before Bats start showing up and put this place on lockdown."

A black form with a red head drops from above, just barely within the kid's peripheral vision. A brief moment of recognition and even something adjacent to interest flickers in blue eyes.

"Bats like me, perchance?"

.

Red Hood was assisting containment with an Arkham breakout. There had been a lot of them in the last few months and Batman was getting grey hairs trying to figure out why. No one in particular was even trying to break out. No one could be pinned for the inciting incident. Just randomly, at any point in the day, the automatic locks would spazz out and everyone would be released.

So the big bad Bat had called all hands on deck, requesting at least one vigilante be at or near Arkham at all times, hoping to at least keep most of the big fish in their cages while they tried to figure out what the hell was going on. And Jason had graciously agreed to help. So here he was, at 3am on a Saturday morning; assisting guards in keep inmates corralled; keeping any eye out for any maximum security escapees.

With none spotted so far, and the people below him literally admitting that they're giving up hope when the Bats arrive, Jason figured he might as well see if a bit of scare tactic will convince them to go back to bed willingly.

"Bats like me, perchance?" The would be escapees in front of him startle and whip around.

"Red Hood?"

"The one and only." Jason shifts to not so subtlely place a hand on his weapons. "Now why don't you 2 just go on back to your rooms and we can forget this little infraction. I won't even tell the guards to write up a discipline slip." The two inmates eye him, then his guns, then each other warily. Finally, they both raise their hands in surrender and begin walking back to their cells.

Jason permits himself a quiet chuckle, much to low to be picked up by the modulator. As he turns back to grapple up to his bird's eye view in the rafters, his eyes catch sight of the inmate who apparently doesn't try to escape. For just a moment, green swamps his vision as Red Hood registers the sight in front of him.

He almost steps in to the cell before a harsh buzz sounds and cell doors clang shut again. An intercom crackles to life announcing the effective lockdown, instructing guards to begin escorting patients back to their cells, cataloging each attempted escapee for future disciplinary measures.

Batman's voice sounds out over comms.

Not a single inmate made it past the main gate. Good job Hood.

Jason seethes for moment longer in front of the cell before biting out his question on the main channel.

What the hell is a kid doing in Arkham!?

A strangled sound makes it through the feed and Nightwing responds, strained.

What?

A KID! Can't be older than 15. In cell... 26B. Looking rather roughed up, I might add. Since why does Arkham even accept minors?

Oracle responds.

Pulling records right now.

Jason eyes the kid, who seems to be entirely unfazed by Red Hood discussing his imprisonment 8 feet away from him. Actually, unfazed is the wrong word. Apathetic is better. Entirely emotionless. Green threatens Jason's vision again as he ponders the potential reasons for the look of resigned desolation on a face so young.

Looks like he was transferred over from a psych ward in Illinois 3 months ago. Ward of the State. File says self-destructive behavior. Apparently he picks up unexplainable injuries and claims ghosts gave them to him.

That still doesn't explain why they sent him to Arkham!

Batman's voice filters back in.

Hood, pull out.

Jason has to force himself to keep his voice down.

WHAT!? I'M NOT LEAVING A KID HERE!

It's almost 4am. Red Robin is on route to relieve you.

I AM NOT LEAVING A 15 YEAR OLD IN ARKHAM!

We will be investigating this further.

15! YOU KNOW, THE SAME AGE I WAS WHEN YOU LET ME DIE IN THAT FUCKING WAREHOUSE.

Jason almost regrets the statement as he here's Dick's stuttered breath. But it seems the kid might have heard him and something about the statement seems to catch his attention.

He actually turns his head to look quizzically at Jason. The expression only lasts a couple seconds before slipping back into blank neutrality as he turns back to the ceiling.

Batman's voice grinds in his ears, an edge in his tone telling Jason that if he doesn't listen, the Bat himself will come pull Jason out.

Hood, his transfer coincides with the start of these break outs. He may be involved. We will be investigating this further, very thoroughly. If he's clean, we will be getting him out of there. But for now I need you to pull out. File your report.

The tone softens.

And get some rest.

Lady Gotham refused to keep her king locked up! She was already spreading her many curses to keep her most powerful enemies away from him. But his child king refuses again and again her invitation to go out and live under his wing. Frustrated, she continued to open the doors of her cell again and again, then all of them, hiding the target cell and plunging the place into chaos hoping for her plan B.

And here he was, finally one of his knights was right in front of the stubborn child king. Luck even made it the one who was also the closest to being one of his subjects! he will surely feel the call!! the lady was happy! But he turned away?!? What? His first knight tried to hijack the returned one?! Ho no, she was too close to the goal!

Red Hood's communications became violently filled with interference at the first step that took her away from the child. He stopped, swore take his com out of it, turned around and stood the child who only briefly raised an eyebrow

RH: do you want to come with me?

Danny shrugged slightly but that was it

RH: ok I'll take you then...

He lifted the child at arm's length and with no reaction put him on his shoulder and left.

Lady Gotham would sing with joy if she had a vocal chord, instead she brushed aside any cloud of smog and offered her young royal the most beautiful starry night she could ♡

Everyone awake metaphorically felt the first step of the -king- of red hood out of Arkam. Lady Gotham had acted so fast, The vigilante could only look up and see the sky clearing above him, making him feel like he was on a red carpet for a minute before continuing to walk away.

Yes, My Lady Gotham is making us a Bruce on Danny and will intimidate her knights so that they take either of her new charge if necessary! I thought it was funny/cute :3

Ok, so I’ve seen a lot of fics where the people of Amity Park got ignored by the Justice League, but I raise you:

Literally no one in Amity Park thought to call the Justice League because Phantom was always on top of everything.

The first ghost that appeared, Lunch Lady, didn’t even do that much damage to the school, she was gone in less than a day. Other towns have dealt with worse, this can’t be a Justice League level threat.

When Skulker comes around the first time, he’s mainly focused on attacking Phantom, and Phantom seems to have it covered, no need to bother the Justice League with this.

The angry ghost dragon situation is, admittedly, a little concerning, but it doesn’t show up for long, so no one really has time to even think about calling for help.

One after the other, the ghosts show up, cause minor damage, and leave. Sure, Phantom is always around, and the town doesn’t exactly trust him, but he’s not doing direct harm to anyone, so why should they bother the Justice League?

And then Pariah Dark sends his army into the town. By the time anyone thinks to contact the Justice League, the barrier around the town is up, blocking any form of contact with the outside world.

And then… Danny Phantom steps up, and defeats him. He took out Pariah Dark all on his own. If he can take care of such a massive threat… well, then they probably won’t need to call the Justice League for anything, really.

On the other hand, Danny himself hasn’t called the Justice League because 1. He doesn’t want to embarrass himself in front of actual superheroes and 2. His parents made the portal to the ghost zone that’s sending in all these world-ending threats, and he’d rather not send his parents to jail, like sure they’re idiots, and probably need some clarification on the actual nature of ghosts, but they mean well

I do love the idea of the JL rushing in, ready to save the day, only to have all the citizens being confused about why the JL is there.

The JL shows up at the beginning of a ghost fight. They immediately try to make people evacuate, but people are just dodging the JL and going about their day. They start trying to make a plan to take down the ghost, when someone comes up to them all mad because the JL is blocking the path and starts going Karen on them.

While they're distracted, Phantom shows up and takes out the ghost in under 5 minutes.

@victoria-has-no-secret they spend a good couple of days trying to figure out what happened to their calls, as well as preparing a formal apology to Phantom and the town. They wind up arriving at the town at the same time as a massive outbreak of ghosts.

Of course the moment they start talking to Phantom while he’s fighting he says he’s surprised they came to the town for “such a minor threat.”

And everything clicks into place.

And now the new concern is “why is this child so powerful and who is keeping him in check.”

The slightly bigger concern is Phantom giving them a containment device that holds his “evil alternate self from the future who destroyed the entire world.”

Avatar

they give a communicator to Phantom telling him to contact them at the slightest problem, just to be called on something harmless, ok not harmless but not heroic like:

How to cook a chicken without it coming back to life or being too much burn.

The best brand of bandage and ankle brace for his human friends.

How to escape an adoption (all of us look at batman who replied that it was not him (not this time / for the moment)

If they know by any chance of a good address of place to sleep around the world who are great broke clone friendly, just out of curiosity.

JLD / Constantine reminds them to just answer the question, please. If they ask questions they will go mad or scare the supernatural overpowered teenager who so far has been isolated from the entire superhero community or support system who is not also a teenager (apparently humans)

Jason adopts Danny as his own.

At first he has no idea what he's doing and does extensive research on how to care for his new son. He fumbles a bit at when actually buying baby products as he's not sure exactly what he'll need, intill a mother of two spots him and helps him out.

In order for the batfamily not to find out about his kid he just puts Danny to sleep before patrols and locks his whole apartment down, leaving a camera to watch over Danny and check on him when ever he gets the chance.

Sometimes making a quick pit stop back to feed or put him back to sleep if he woke up.

Eventually he gets the hang of parenting and hiding his son. Intill hes just relaxing, reading a book at the end of patrol before bed. And gets an unexpected visit from one of the bat fam (I'm thinking nightwing but could be any). They look between Jason and the sleeping baby in a cot before they evidently become incredibly concerned and confused.

Where did this baby even come from?

Why is there a baby? WHY DOES JASON HAVE A BABY??

Jason has to finally Reluctantly reveal his sons existence and the whole family goes wild.

Bruce: I have a grandson? :0

Dick: I have a Nephew! :D

Tim: Should we be concerned?

Duke: Oh God, the Bird adoption tendency has passed onto Jason..

Damian: ... What

Cass: Nephew :D

Stephanie: I'm gonna be an awesome aunt! >:D

They all immediately try and meet the little guy but have a hard time when a very protective Jason practically hisses at them when they try to get close without his invitation. Especially Bruce. Telling them all that he'll let them met him eventually over time under his choosing.

First is Alfred and Barbara (obviously) who is absolutely in love with little Danny on sight. His little great grandson. And Barbara's technical Nephew.

Bab's absolutely melts when she gets to hold his little self bundled in fabric. And tears up when reaches for her face and gently munches on her hair.

When Alfred got to hold him and he had to wipe his eyes then well, he just has to do some dusting later that's all.

Next is the overwhelmed with excitement Richard. Dick is absolutely overjoyed to meet his little Nephew and immediately crys when Jason allows him to hold the little guy and Danny grabs one of his fingers. The little guy was holding his finger! With his whole fist!

Cass and Steph were after Dick, Cass absolutely loved him and even had a gift lined up for him (that others were jealous of since they hadn't even thought about that!)

A stuffed toy Bat that Danny immediately took and held close. Steph followed up with Cass's idea and bought clothes for Danny, JL themed because it was funny.

Both got to hold him and both got to take turns bottle feeding him. He went to sleep in Cass's arms and had to be taken back by Jason.

Next up had been Duke and Tim. Both were very intrigued to meet him and Tim even made the comment that he looked identical to Jason.

Black hair, blue eyes, white streak. He was honestly suprised to hear from Jason that no, he was not biologically Danny's father. And that it was just incredible coincidence.

Duke makes fun of Jason with the Bruce adoption trait the entire time.

When they got to hold him they fell for his little chubby face and adorable sky blue eyes. This was the're Nephew, and they would absolutely protect the little guy from harm.

Finally it was Bruce and Damians turn,

Bruce was holding in all of his questions and all of his excitement. In order not to scare away his second son who had finally given the okay for him to meet his grandson.

Damian wasn't as enthusiastic as all the others but Bruce could tell he was curious.

As soon as Bruce laid eyes on the little bundled form in Jasons arms. He felt himself smile and his heart skip a beat.

That was the newest addition to his family. His little grandson.

His sons first and foremost rule was that Danny was his adopted son and not up for Bruce to take. Bruce readily agreed.

And that Danny was not to ever become a robin. Jason didn't want that for his son.

Damian looked at the little baby that in turn, turned to face Damian with wide eyes.

Damian blinked owlishly as the little one smiled widely and reached for him cooing.

Jason was also suprised.

"He likes the demon brat?"

Damian gave his hand to Danny experimentally and Danny happily took it and did not want to let go for a while.

Damian wondered if Danny would like animals?

Would Todd even let him show Danny all his animals?

Bruce would not not lie and say he wasnt jealous at the little ones quick effection to his youngest.

When Jason asked if Bruce would like to hold Danny he jumped at the opportunity. A rare show of trust, a sign of repair to there broken relationship.

When Danny was laid in Bruce's waiting arms it took all he had not to cry then and there. He was just so perfect. Danny curled up a bit and with an adorable little yawn, and drifted of to sleep in Bryce's arms.

I have all these random cute and funny sernarios in my head of Danny interacting with the family as he grows up.

Thinking that the whole family actively try and keep the vigilantism a secret from Danny intill hes a bit older.

Also thinking of either Danny still has his ghost powers and they just awaken incredibly slow over time from toddler age (floating toddler would be incredibly funny) or when he's just starting primary school and he's just absolutely terrified with no idea whats going on and Jasons freaking out on what to do. (Adding a how to care for your Meta child book in his library.)

I'm this 🤏 close to turning this into a fanfic>°>

With like a whole story line and everything. This au's begging to stick.

Also I have some art for this lined up that I'll post next.

Also @starkcravingmad tag as requested:)

Finally I'm going to make a post about it so I'm posting my comment here too, sorry for the repetition:

When duke first sees him, he says he's brilliant, everyone takes it figuratively. When the floating happens the first time everyone panics a bit.

Duke is simply: I told you so. it shines like a phosphorescent star, of course it's a meta.

Everyone looks at him with wide eyes.

The flutter appears the first time it falls and no one was fast enough to catch it.

Invisibility during a game of "pik a boo" (I don't know how to spell it sorry).

Intelligibility has its first successful candy steal, telekinesis comes in a similar way.

Shield construction the first time RH comes back injured and falls unconscious before covering everything up, danny wakes up heals and watches over his dad for hours, no one can / must come near! so shield. After that it is decided that he will have a medical training and spend some evening with Alfred patching up the batfam or making them cookies.

The eclipse happens by accident at school, it takes more than a week for him to tell his father about it. They trained it together but agreed to keep it a secret

The ectobeams the first time is that his father teaches him the safety of weapons and then takes him to his secret / private shooting ranges, as much to say that Jason is happy to have taught him safety.

Tech eclipse happens by accident as oracle had it one night when everyone was on the deck and alfred was busy/hurt. He helped with some low level hacking (because of course uncle tim and aunt barbara taught him "the basics") He hypers focus and "falls" into the computer. In the heat of the moment he continues to do what he does, succeeds, contacts barb' via his com' without her realizing that he is no longer physically close to the audio quality of the com'. It is hours later after having stopped the plot of the week that the situation is realized. The batfam is divided on the situation but it is finally decided that Danny will spend some evening with Barbara to learn this new ability.

The dream walk happens when a member of the batfam falls into a comma (no doubt magic), everyone else is on the pond and Danny falls asleep watching him and he wakes up together and confused

Ice comes at the onset of puberty, much like in canon, but with a panic of whether it's some kind of Mister Freeze disease that's infecting it

The wail arrives at the announcement of the death of one of the batfams see jason (they are better now)

I see Danny eventually becoming the group's field medic/emergency extractor but usually just Oracle's right-hand man. His ghostly urges make him want to help but his very pultions can disconnect him from logic. This situation is ultimately the compromise that has been found.

After that he is extracted and healed some number of villains, their henchmen and a lot of civilians. It is called the white flag. It is totally forbidden to harm him otherwise the whole gallery of villains and bats will fall on you, no matter if the bullets pass through him or he is almost uncapturable. Don't even think about it and if we hear you thinking about it, you're finished in Gotham. Unless it's the jokers...

Eventually he meets Jazz after she becomes an intern at Arkam and he has to check her background. Suffice to say that it was a week full of emotions...

DP X DC WRITING PROMPT #3

(I'm feeling kinda angsty today, I guess. If there's a fic/prompt like this already tho, please link me. 👀)

Once crowned as the High Ghost King of the Infinite Realms, Danny gains some grim reaper-like abilities and dominan over a specific subset of souls.

Heroes.

I’m imagining a less agnsty version where some JL member dies in a big battle, like GL for instance, and everyone is mourning them until the GLs spirit rises from their corpse and a strange kid who looks like the Grim Reaper shows up. Everyone is confused and on guard until the kid(?) begins to speak.

Danny: Wow, that looked like it hurt. But did a great job, I’m really proud!

GL: So, I’m dead huh. And you’re the Grim Reaper?

Danny: Yeah. My names Phantom, I’m like the Grim Reaper but for heroes and hero related entities. It’s… kinda complicated but you get the idea.

GL: Damn. Can I at least say goodbye to everyone before I go?

Danny: Haha yeah all I’m supposed to do it grab your soul ‘before it goes back into your body’ so we’ve got time- *Danny turns around* OH WOW WHAT IS THAT OVER THERE!

Everyone, seeing nothing “over there”: ???

GL, very confused and doing nothing: ?!?!?

About 15 seconds later, Danny, turning back around: OH NO what a mistake you got back into your body and you’re alive again-

GL, still floating there are definitely not alive: What?

Danny, eye twitching: Well time for me to reap your soul- GOODNESS ME ANOTHER COOL THING! *Turns around*

GL, very hesitantly, goes to lie down in his body. He then stands, hacking up a lung and most definitely alive. Everyone is surprised and overjoyed, Flash going so far as to hug GL. Danny turns back around, and the league prepare for a fight. They’re not going to let the reaper take GLs soul.

Danny: Aw man I messed up my job. But nothing I can do about that now, since your alive. Well it was a pleasure meeting you all. See you later!

Danny then disappears, leaving the JL very confused. They let Danny go, grateful and more concerned about the freshly undead GL.

(Except for Batman. Batman never lets things go.)

(The next time someone dies and Danny shows up, Flash takes the initiative and pulls a “What’s that behind you?” Danny then *definitely* falls for it.)

oh look a convenient but totally coincidental distraction!!! (flash)

hey.. Phamtom?.... do you like swords? (Wonder Woman)

kid, do you like space? *two hours (at least) later* uuuuh, I'm sorry but I have to leave now (GL)

So I heard you like stars, wanna hear about Martian history? (John Jones)

........ do you want to hear about my children? (batman)

Good dissection au. Danny is super curious what's going on inside his own body and trusts his parents. They give him proper anesthesia and take all sorts of safety precautions while doing a handful of exploratory surgeries, and make sure Danny has time to rest and fun flavored juices to drink afterward.

Crap yeah! I mean i don't really want a fic on the dissection itself but if there's a natural portal style crossover and someone mentions the scars and says he and his parents rummaged through his body to check how it works. He would talk about it the same way he talks about that afternoon when they decorated his ceiling with phosphorescent stars.

Danny doesn't even notice the weird looks he gets. I mean, he's a Fonton, his whole family been staring like crazy for years

Let's add that they must have filmed it, surely with the family video recorder. so we oscillate between cutting and moments like a camping weekend.

Maybe do this in the far frozen, frostbite would help plan and a lot of doctors would be curious about halfa
