Yesterday, when Grace and I explained to Sarah that we would be using our own bodies as units of measurement, she recommended to us that we research Corban Walker.

Walker is an Irish artist and a member of Aos Dána. Inspired by his diagnosis of Achondroplasia (a type of dwarfism), his pieces play with ideas of space, scale, and how we as individuals navigate our environs.

According to sculpture Dublin: "Walker makes particular demands of his audience, often requiring that they exert themselves to engage with his work: clambering onto a chair; ducking to avoid being decapitated by wire; stooping to view low-slung work."

I am very interested in his work, and I like how simple a lot of it is. As someone who also has a disability, I also have to think a lot about the ways in which I navigate the environments around me. Even as a woman, it can sometimes be abundantly clear in a space that the architectural standard is designed with a 6 foot man in mind. Walker's work, therefore, has a lot of relevance to my own life.

I emailed to ask a Harvard researcher and advocate for intersex rights for access to one paper and she sent me seven plus additional resources and permission to stay in touch. Ask for papers!

I had to fight for this, hard. I'm intersex and was forced onto estrogen as a teen and it made me really sick. In my late 20s, I had a doctor convince me that estrogen was medically necessary for me - it wasn't - and put me back on it, making me ill for years.

In 2022, a nonbinary doctor denied me a referral to a gender affirming endocrinologist because I'm intersex and wasn't intending on changing my gender to man or nonbinary - because I wasn't transitioning. I was sent to a random endocrinologist that spent an hour trying to convince me I must be a man to be okay with my body, and that microdoses of testosterone for postmenopausal women isn't a thing. (It fucking is.)

They're misquoting a Forbes article that said, "57% of all text-based content on the web is AI-generated."

Which itself was also a misquote of a study saying "57% of all text translations on the web are machine generated."
