we don't talk enough about how supernatural accidentally created characters so complex and endearing they overrode the sheer ridiculousness of the plot. i could literally watch them doing anything. i would watch them doing nothing. i'd watch a whole episode of them making a grocery run

i like to think sam and dean have one shitty shovel and one good one in the impala because if you have two of something, one is inevitably going to be better and nicer and more desirable. and dean and sam fight over the good one every. time. cause they each think they deserve the good shovel. but we don’t see this of course. and when it’s just sam and cas they take turn and keep a mental list of whose turn it was to use the good shovel last because fair is fair. and when it’s dean and cas they both offer the other one the good shovel because that’s romance, that’s love, wanting someone else to dig up a grave with a shovel whose blade stays firmly in place
