The “Divine Comedy” by Ezio Anichini
Dante Alighieri had a major influence on the career of his fellow citizen Ezio Anichini (1886-1948).
The Florentine artist – who collaborated with magazines such as “Almanacco italiano Bemporad”, “Il Giornalino della Domenica”, and “Scena illustrata” since the very early 1900s – often worked on portraits of the famous poet, represented scenes from his works, and illustrated postcards to celebrate the 600-year anniversary of Dante’s death, in 1921.

teachers stop having unrealistically high expectations of me when they can see i’m struggling challenge failed
paris, september 2018
my literature teacher criticised my essay to the point of me crying in the middle of class today. she said that she was disappointed in me and knew that i could do better (i was getting A grades consistently all of last year) i haven’t been great mentally recently so to be criticised like that and hear my teacher say that they were disappointed in me felt crushing and overwhelming... you can’t expect me to have amazing grades when i’m not feeling amazing mentally and can’t even take care of myself never mind the state of my grades.

life update: i’m not saying this worked but something happened literally the day after i reblogged this
the upcoming academic year is coming up so i just want to say:
1) please prioritise your mental health!! don’t overwork yourself to the point where you physically and mentally can’t handle it anymore. your own wellbeing is the most important
2) please tell your teachers about anything that could hinder your studies so that they can support you!! for example if you’re having a depressive episode and that means that you’re unable to meet a deadline then tell your teacher!!!!! your teachers are meant to support you, not hinder your progress
3) your mental illnesses don’t make you any less intelligent or any less deserving of respect. you’re strong and important and i know the extent of which school environments can deteroriate your mental health but i’m so proud of you and you deserve everything good in the world
3) you’re incredible and strong and i know that you’re going to be so amazing this year
my roommate’s on jstor and she just whispered “oh fuck yeah” so that’s the mood
