everything that makes fatou’s coming out so much more meaningful than anyone who isn’t queer can ever understand

how casually she drops her lack of interest in boyfriends into the conversation, relatable
how she got to come out in her own time with her own words without being outed or pressured
the way mailin looked at her all coy and teasing and appreciative (can’t put her facial expression into words, it was just an amazing face)
how fatou actually looks fucking proud of being into women, and why wouldn’t she, being a lesbian fucking rules
how it wasn’t a big deal to any of them, no “so are you into one of us then” or “so do you find me attractive”
and I love how it was just a statement and then they immediately went on with another topic, no follow up questions, nothing
it’s exactly what I’m always trying to explain to cishets: match the energy of the person who is coming out to you! fatou wasn’t nervous or scared or shy, she is totally confident in her sexuality, she didn’t need reassurance or encouragement, she just decided to share that important but at the same time trivial fact about herself and her new friends just accepted it without any hesitation or fuss

yes, this scene means the world to me. no, I will not stop talking about fatou any time soon
