(JTA) — A grand jury declined to indict a former U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement officer who drove his truck into a row of Jewish protesters at an ICE detention center.

Capt. Thomas Woodworth resigned his position days after the August incident at the Donald W. Wyatt Detention Facility in Central Falls, where protesters were blocking an entrance. The demonstrators were part of Never Again Action, a new Jewish group protesting ICE and U.S. immigration policy by getting arrested at ICE detention facilities.

The grand jury voted not to indict other ICE officers on the scene.

[…] Never Again Action condemned the decision and called on the Wyatt facility to be closed.

“We are greatly disappointed that Mr. Woodworth will not be held accountable for his irresponsible, dangerous, and violent actions against peaceful protesters on August 14, nor will the officers who recklessly deployed pepper spray into the crowd that night,” the group’s Rhode Island chapter said in a statement Wednesday. “Mr. Woodworth should be in jail but, more importantly, the Wyatt should be shut down, the state should ban all collaboration with ICE, and ICE detainees at the Wyatt should be freed.”

Holy shit.... Never Again Action (the group who started #JewsAgainstICE) had an ICE detention truck drive through them while they were shutting down Wayne Detention Center in Rhode Island this evening (August 14th).

Like they were holding the line across the entry gate and refusing to let night shift guards in and a massive truck just, fucking, drove up to them then slowed as the protestors got up from where they were sitting, alarmed, then the truck accelerated into people.

It doesn't seem like there are any serious injuries. The people who were around the truck after it stopped accelerating into people were pepper sprayed.

The truck was driven by an ICE guard.

Fun fact, y’all!! Jewish protesters have been surrounding and shutting down ICE detention centers for weeks now, and we’re getting absolutely NO media coverage. None. In the slightest. And by jewish protesters I mean THOUSANDS OF US HAVE BEEN PROTESTING FOR NIGHTS ON END AND OVER 250 HAVE BEEN ARRESTED AT THIS POINT AND WE ARE GETTING ZERO COVERAGE. This is probably the biggest protest movement in american jewish history and it’s getting no coverage. We got hit with a truck DRIVEN BY A DETENTION CENTER GUARD and pepper sprayed and many people ended up in the hospital - one man in his sixties has a broken leg and a potentially broken back because of it. PLEASE REBLOG THIS. THOUSANDS OF YOUR JEWISH SIBLINGS ARE TRYING TO SHUT DOWN THE CENTERS AND WE’RE GETTING ZERO COVERAGE. PLEASE PLEASE SPREAD THIS AROUND.

I asked people not to comment because if they actually support us they shouldn’t even feel the need to, and I’m real sick to death of people talking over us about what’s ‘actually’ disrespectful to us when we’re the ones saying it. 

It isn’t elitist to ask people who are not Jewish to stop telling me, a Jewish person, that it’s disrespectful to me, a Jewish person, if I, a Jewish person, call them concentration camps. It’s something I have seen repeatedly happening. It’s something that happened to me anyways, on this post, where goy told me, a Jewish person, that I wasn’t allowed to make those comparisons because ‘well it’s diiiifferennnnnnt’, who clearly had 0 capacity of understanding our history with the events and words. 

This is also not your post, you do not get to give people permission to argue with me and talk over me as a result. If you want people telling you ‘Uhhhh actually, I don’t have the history or experience with this, but I think you’re disrespecting yourself and diminishing yourself when you talk about your own history and how it’s similar’, you can make your own damn post, but I’m not here for that right now, and that isn’t what this post is for, and I’m not tolerating it on this post. 

People asking a bigoted group not to interact with their posts isn’t about elitism, it’s about their own safety. (Trans people saying ‘TERF’s don’t interact’ and aspecs saying ‘exclusionists don’t interact’ are asking a group that actively causes them harm to stay away from them, people have a right to a boundary. Calling boundaries ‘elitist’ is not remotely okay and shows exactly how you feel about people saying ‘please stop, I’m not comfortable’)

People asking a group not actually affected not to talk over them isn’t about elitism, it’s reminding people to stay in their damn lanes. It’s a different boundary. One that says ‘I’m not here to argue about this with people who do not have the needed history and background to have an argument that matters’. I am allowed to have that boundary, you are not allowed to criticize people for having a perfectly reasonable one and then give people permission to cross it. You can anyways of course, but it makes you an asshole.

Everyone knows those are white supremacist tattoos but folks in a different article are arguing otherwise. We all know people with molon labe or Spartan tattoos are espousing a certain world view, primarily fascist ideology.
