Digital Spy did a poll to find the best TV drama of the 21 century - Hannibal won…

That makes me very happy! We were all very pleased with what we did, we are all very proud of it, we thought it was something that was radical and interesting. Unfortunately, we didn’t have the fourth season, so I’m very pleased to hear it’s been voted up there.

Is there a ticking clock on bringing it back? Or is the door always open?

This is a show we cannot do without Bryan Fuller, he’s the mastermind behind the whole thing, he’s a genius, and if he one day says, ‘Hey guys, I’ve found a TV channel that wants to pick it up and I’m ready to go’, I’m sure that we would do everything in our power to be part of the show as well, we all enjoyed it tremendously. We’ll see.

Would you prefer to do a one-off film or an extended run?

Like a film?

Yes

I won’t say no to anything, but I think the TV medium for the story of Hannibal works so well. It’s not a film thing, it’s not something you can do in an hour and a half. Because of the time we had, we could go slowly, reveal our ghosts in the closets later on, and I prefer that, I think that’s very interesting and dramatic to watch. Sure, it would be easy enough to make an interesting film, but I think the medium we have chosen was perfect for what we wanted to do.

Would you like to work with Bryan Fuller on any of his new projects?

Anything. I think he was a brilliant, genius person to work with and I can only sit back and look at all his success and think he earned every single bit of it.

If it doesn’t get another season, will you be satisfied with how it ended?

Yes. I would have to say yes. You can always argue that we had in the back of our minds a full fourth season that goes really ballistic, but Bryan has always been smart enough to end his seasons where it might be the last, so I would be satisfied, yes.
