friendly reminder that if you have a hard time eating due to nausea or other chronic illness ickies, just eat what you can eat. even if it’s not particularly “healthy,” getting calories in your body to help it function is more important.

this applies to fat people, folks with eating disorders, and autistic people who can’t eat certain foods!!!!!!!! we need to eat. it’s okay to eat “unhealthy” foods, sugary foods, processed foods. especially if it’s the only thing you can eat.

I “invented” my own gender identity , because i’ve been struggling to find an identity that fits me.

so:

synkatagender

  • name: from greek, synkatáthesi - consent
  • meaning: when one agrees with the gender they were assigned at birth and mostly identifies with it, feels comfortable with their body and fenotype, doesn’t feel the need to change their body (i.e. remove breasts) but also wouldn’t mind being the opposite gender if they were to wake up in another gender’s body (wouldn’t feel the need to change their body and/or genitals), basically they agree with the assigned gender but also would be okay if they were assigned any other gender, but that doesn’t mean they are comfortable with any pronouns, they still may have pronouns they feel that are most fitted to them
  • keywords: comfort, agreed, consent, doesn’t mind being any assigned gender

i also made a flag that i feel represents it (it’s similar to agender but a slightly different colour because i feel it’s similar to agender but a bit different)

if you have any suggestions please list them below!!

Shadow Work 101: Ruminating vs Reprocessing

I need to start this off with my usual disclaimer that I am not a therapist and really underline it here. I speaking on this based purely on my own experience and a little bit of reading I’ve done on the subject. It in no way constitutes a expert opinion. (Also it’s 3 in the morning here, so even if I was an expert, this would not exactly be optimal material here)

However, it’s important enough that I want to at least bring this part of shadow work up because I realized recently that I’ve not addressed it very explicitly.

When you’re working with difficult memories and even trauma in your shadow work, it is incredibly important to evaluate whether you’re reprocessing the memory when you bring it up to explore it and sit with it.

What I mean is usually in going through old memories there’s this discovery process, where you suddenly see your past experiences in a new light. But it’s important to then move to the next part which is reintegrating that memory in a way so that remembering it isn’t painful or causing dysfunction. There are a ton of ways to do that. Therapists have a ton of tools at their disposal to help with this so if you can see one, I highly recommend it. But tarot is also a good way to begin to reexamine and reintegrate these difficult memories. Spreads can help you see those memories in new lights and help balance out the intensity of our negative thinking.

However, there’s something I’ve seen with some folks where they’ll almost obsessively recall memories and do not reprocess them. Or they’ll bring up more memories than they can possibly do any sort of reintegration work at a time. This can be overwhelming and even damaging in my experience. It can lead to folks freezing and shutting down. It can wind up being used to justify poor behaviors that might have sparked the exploration in the first place, keeping the person locked in their dysfunctional patterns.

That sort of obsession without reprocessing is called rumination. Where you feel as if you can’t stop thinking about a difficult memory or that you have to in order to prevent something bad from happening again. Rumination can almost become a form of self harm depending on how it manifests in a person’s life. If when someone messes up they then recall a bunch of times they’ve messed up and they don’t follow that up with any sort of reframing, it’s essentially like yelling and humiliating yourself. Rumination, even in it’s milder forms, is highly correlated to depression and, at least in my experience, can totally stall the shadow integration/healing process.

So when trying to figure out if you’re ruminating or reprocessing a memory, here are some questions:

  • When you recall the memory, do you see it in a new more compassionate light (reprocessing) or do you feel as if that’s the end of line, there’s nothing more to do (rumination)?
  • Afterward, do you feel lighter and more relieved (reprocessing) or do you feel heavy and shameful (rumination)?
  • When you’re thinking about the memory, do you account for the complexity of the situation (reprocessing) or do you find yourself believing you or another person was all good or all bad (rumination)?

While these aren’t perfect in their wording, they’re at least a start. If you find yourself ruminating a lot, there are a host of strategies you can use to cut down on it. One option, is just not doing memory work until you’re better able to manage that rumination. Sometimes we push ourselves too far too fast and we just need a chance to recoup in order to get back to reprocessing. There’s plenty of other shadow work skills to work on in that time - keeping small daily promises, describing things neutrally, breathwork - that don’t require you to bring up memories in order to be helpful.

If you’re really in a rut, I recommend TMS journaling - stream of consciousness journaling for 20 minutes with the focus on writing down things we’re afraid to admit to other people and then deleting or destroying it - twice a day. It’s been incredibly helpful for me to break the habit of rumination. Another option is talking for 20 minutes into a camera if journaling that much is too difficult. My question and answer method I wrote about can also be helpful here.

But maybe you’re like some folks I’ve talked to and you’re realizing you don’t really know how to reprocess a memory. While I definitely recommend a therapist above all else, one way can be to select a card as a signifier for the memory, shuffle you deck, find the card, and the cards on either side will offer a different framing for how to think about it. You can also check out some of the spreads I’ve posted under shadow working in my free resources. Working with stuck points if you’re in a good enough place can also be one way to shift the needle forward.

So I just wanted to put this out there for folks who might not realize their shadow work is actually rumination heavy and as something to consider if you’re stalling out in your shadow work. I really hope you all are well and I’m looking forward to writing more about this in the future.

10 Prompts for Shadow Work
🌒 🌕 🌘
  1. Keep track of your feelings from day to day. Record how you felt and try to pin point why you felt certain ways in different situations. How could you habe handled it better? Why did you react the way you did?
  2. Write a letter to your past self, or your future self. Then break down your thoughts on why you said the things you did. Address any emotions that pop up during this process and record them. Why did you feel that way? What events in your life made you right what you did?
  3. Are you living true to yourself? Are you changing who you are based on who you're around? What are those changes? Why do you make those changes?
  4. Are you holding on to something or someone that you should let go of? Why do you hold on to it? What are steps you can take to let go of it?
  5. What are your fears? Your REAL fears not just spiders or heights. Why are you afraid of those things? Are there any steps you can take to lessen that fear?
  6. How do you treat the people in your life? Is there anything you could do for them to better your relationships? Are you being a positive, healthy influence on their life or are you being a toxic one? If toxic, what changes are you going to make to your behavior to stop being toxic?
  7. What do you wish other people knew about you? Why do you keep it hidden?
  8. Are you healing from past traumas and or incidents or have you just distracted yourself? What healthy ways could you address unhealed trauma in order to move to a healthier place?
  9. Make a list of people you don't like. Why don't you like them? Are they actually bad or do you see bad parts of yourself reflecting in them and that's why you don't like them? Be honest.
  10. Write down everything that happens to you in a week that makes you feel bad in any way. Examine this list and ask why certain events make you feel bad.
BONUS: Write down what you believe about a variety of things (from religion and karma all the way down to relationships and your career path). Why do you believe those things? Are these feelings set in stone or are you willing to accept alternate views? Why or why not?

Remember Shadow work is all about unlocking your subconscious. This helps you understand yourself better which is important for many different aspects in witchcraft, and your star seed will thank you for it.

Hello there! Hope you're having a wonderful day ❤️ and also wishing you a very happy new year 🥂 I wanted to ask you if you could suggest some questions that we can ask our deck, when we first get it, for self-readings? Thank you!

When I have a new deck, what I do is not an interview but an agreement.

I overhand shuffle the cards face side up, while telling them my name... what I need them to do for me... and what I promise to do for them in return.

After my every statement, I note the card that lands on top. That is my deck's response.

"My name is Diana. You are mine now."

Card on top is Strength, with the lady petting a lion. My deck is submitting to my authority.

"I need you to speak only with the voice of The Fates and of Venus."

Card on top is the Six of Cups, with a boy handing a gift to a girl. My deck is promising to give me what I asked for.

"Though sometimes, Mars and Pluto speak to me too. Do let them through."

Card on top is Death. The card of Scorpio, whose ancient ruler is Mars and whose modern ruler is Pluto. My deck says yes.

"In exchange, I promise to take care of you."

Card on top is the Two of Cups, with a loving couple. My deck would love that very much.

"You will not rot on a shelf. I will always come to you for help."

Card on top is The Fool, with a man ready to begin. My deck likes the sound of that and cannot wait to start.

"I will not use you in crowded places and on dirty surfaces. You will be highly regarded."

Card on top is the Nine of Pentacles, with a privileged woman safe in her lush garden. Yes, my deck would enjoy being protected and pampered.

"But be careful not to let anyone else through."

Card on top is the Seven of Wands, with a man on the defense. My deck will make sure they cannot enter.

"Unless of course I summon someone in particular."

Card on top is the Knight of Wands, with a traveling knight on a horse. Yes, if someone specific has been called, my deck will open itself to that soul.

"So let us do our first reading."

Card on top is The Sun — a happy child with open arms and nothing on. My deck will gladly tell me all I need to know. There are no truths it will not show.

When pulling cards for a reading how do you know which ones to pull?

Traditional Ways of Dealing Tarot Cards

1) Drawing from the top of the deck

Overhand shuffle the deck, then cut. Draw how ever many cards you need from the top of the deck. But also include the card at the bottom. If you are performing a spread of 10 cards, for example, either draw the first nine from the top, and the tenth from the bottom; or draw the ten cards from the top, and turn over the deck, to include the card at the bottom as an additional message.

2) Pulling from a fanned out deck

Overhand shuffle the deck, then cut. Put in on the table and fan it out. Pull how ever many cards you need. Either choose the ones you are drawn to, or use numerology. For example, if you need three cards, and your birthday is on August 12, 1998, pull the eighth card from the left, the twelfth card from the middle of the fan, and the ninth card from the righthand end (8 for August, 12 for 12th, 9 from 1 + 9 + 9 + 8 = 27; 2 + 7 = 9).

3) Taking the cards that leap out

Overhand shuffle the deck, and wait for the cards to leap out themselves. Keep shuffling until you have the number of cards you need. The cards may leap out one at a time, or altogether. Make sure you read the cards in the position they landed — if they came out upright, they are to be read that way; if they came out reversed, read them as such. This is your cards narrowing down their meaning for you.

Anonymous asked:

Is tarot unique to the individual with that person forming their own interpretations and such or is tarot a set form of divination with rules and such?

Both. Tarot has fixed meanings, and the reader chooses which one to use.

Think of every tarot card as a walk-in closet. It is huge and has many items inside. Still, the number is not infinite. A person may only choose a dress that is inside. She cannot conjure one out of thin air.

Take the Justice card. It means karma, or simply, getting what you deserve — which could be amazing or terrible. It also represents legal matters, which could be troublesome or simple. Further, it foretells a wedding, specifically the contracts and the signing that come with it. Then again, it also means oppression by the government or the police… as well as the protection of the Universe.

So when a tarot reader pulls Justice, it is up to him or her to pick which meaning applies. Both practical knowledge and spiritual intuition are a reader’s eyes and guide.

Here are what I have posted on the matter:

Hello my lovely Diana! What do u think about lucky or bad-luck numbers? For Example > Someone once mentioned to me that the best numbers for riffles were the ones with a lot of 9's. But to me on the 9, it's like super unlucky... Xample2> in 2007 (if you add their numbers it ends up being 9) It was a freaking horror, my parent's divorce, we almost lost our house, we had to move and rent, etc. And let's not talk about this year that I turned 27 (again, 9) LOL! Still what do you think, my love? ^^

How to Find Your Lucky Numbers with Tarot

Auspicious numbers are not assigned. Rather, they are found. And it takes at least half a year for them to reveal themselves. But when they do, you can trust that they are true.

STEP 1: Perform weekly readings.

At the beginning of every week, ask tarot what lies ahead. A spread with at least 10 cards is recommended.

STEP 2: Look for the dominant number.

For every reading, find the number that dominates your spread.

Did you get three 9s this week, with all the other numbers appearing less than thrice? Then 9 is the dominant number in that reading.

For the majority of tarot cards, this should be obvious. The Magician and the Ace of Cups are 1… The Emperor and the Four of Wands are 4… The Chariot and the Seven of Pentacles are 7… and so on.

For the cards that are numbered beyond 9, add their two digits together. The sum is your answer:

  • Justice = 11 =  1 +  1 =  2
  • Death = 13 = 1 + 3 =  4
  • Judgement = 20 = 2 + 0 = 2
  • Ten of Cups = 10 = 1 + 0 = 1
  • Pages = 11 = 1 + 1 = 2
  • Knights = 12 = 1 + 2 = 3
  • Queens = 13 = 1 + 3 = 4
  • Kings = 14 = 1 + 4 =  5

STEP 3: Evaluate your readings.

At the end of every week, record whether the reading was positive or negative, that is, whether your week went well or not.

STEP 4: Tally the scores.

If Week 1 went well, and its dominant number was 6, then give 6 one point.

If Week 2 went badly, and its dominant number was 8, then give 8 a negative point.

If Week 3 turned out to be neutral, and its dominant number was 4, then do not give any number a score.

After six months have passed, and you have the data for approximately 26 weekly readings, look for the two digits with the highest points. They are your lucky numbers.

STEP 5: Use your lucky numbers.

If 5 and 7 turn out to be the most auspicious for you, then maximize their benefit.

Schedule job interviews, contract signings and romantic dates on the 5th or 7th day of the month. Plan your trips to be 5 or 7 days long. May 7th and July 5th will be especially lucky for you.

Your fifth relationship could be your soulmate. Your seventh job could be the one you retire in. Apartment No. 75 on the corner of 5th and 7th Avenue could be the home that is meant for you.

When choosing numbers for the lottery or other raffles, pick combinations that end or begin with 5 and 7.

And when making important decisions, such as whether to go ahead with a risky surgery, and you end up seeing 5 and 7 everywhere on that day, then that is your promise that the procedure will be flawless.
