same goes for the dragons; when their mother commands them she is hitler with nuclear weapons but any able-bodied joe in the series is just the man™ when they get them in their incels fans's power fantasies

Something that makes me laugh when sansa stans coo about her ✨intelligence✨, especially in the context of degrading Dany (and Arya to a degree) for her lack of a formal education:

Sansa's last class was whichever she recieved pre-Ned's imprisonment when she was twelve and that by a septa, not even a maester. Yet, from the three girls, Sansa always had the 'best' chance to *actually* recieved a 'proper' education due to always living in close proximity to a maester. In the Vale she may still be very much a pawn, but she could have at least ask to receive lessons, given how Petyr grants her numerous extravagant privileges (x, x)

And yet, GRRM chose her not to do so. In fact she scoffs and dismisses Master Coleman every chance. If Sansa would be as smart as her fans boasts you would assume she would try to resume her education.

Daenerys and Arya on the other hand exploit every chance they get to broaden their horizons; Daenerys can read and write (which is even more remarkable given the fact that she indeed hadn't had maester growing up), speaks multiple languages discusses with and listens to more educated, wise and diverse advisors, and educates herself with books (x). Arya (who lost the privilege the day of father's imprisonment) has proven that she is a dedicated pupil to Syrio Forel, she manages to secured herself a place as a novice at the House of Black and White, where she learns diverse languages, history, poisons, how to stalk and kill unsuspiciously, to dedicate lies and to lie and tasked to learn 3 new things everyday.

It's always assume that at the very least Sansa will i) out smart Petyr Bealish, ii) regain autonomy and her identity, that iii) in some way or form Petyr's tale will become true such as Sansa securing herself a marriage with Harrold Hardyng and her having such a strong influence on him that he will a) wage war for her 'birthright' or b) aid the North by providing goods, food and manpower. With the Vale enthusiastically doing his every bidding, simply because she is his wife and she asked him nicely/is so courteous and eloquent/he is so inlove with her/its profitable for the Vale.

He talked about the Boba Fett syndrom. It is basically how a side non-character captures the imagination of the reader/viewer way beyond the creator's intent. It's the "cool" characters that have one line or five minutes of screen/page time that gather a cult following. He also said he gets fan letters where people say, "I love Tytos Blackwood. Can we learn more about him?" He called Oberyn Martell one of his Boba Fett characters. - GRRM, 2005, NOVEMBER 22

I think it is a mistake to generalize about "the Westerlings," just as it would be to generalize about "the Lannisters." Members of the same family have very different characters, desires, and ways of looking at the world... and there are secrets within families as well. - GRRM, MAY 01, 2001

Something for sansa stans that genuinely believe the Starks are somehow superior in every aspect to all the other houses, think their members are exchangeable with one another, will always be a big happy family (no matter the individual's actions), and have all the same *right* values and are equally talented and gifted.

Only sansa stans can manage to make it so easy to roast Sansa and them due to being the ✨most stupid arrogant illiterates ever✨

They agitate everybody so many people as backlash rip Sansa apart (still less excessively than her stans do with literally every other character) point out all her flaws, shortcomings, lack of development, and skills for their toxic behavior like being unable to keep other character's name out of their mouth, steal from others, make up and exaggerate Sansa's alleged skills and traits, while simultaneously downplay or vilify everybody else. But what's truly sad, is that the majority of her 'haters' would probably forget about Sansa's existence was it not for her stans. 🤡

Sansa's survival NOT being ensured by her✨politeness or charm✨ is a fact that really has to get through people's thick skulls, especially her stans. They often argue Arya wouldn't have survived King's Landing (to prop Sansa up) because her willfulness would have gotten her killed, even if her entire time in Harrenhall proves otherwise.

But more importantly, no one would have risked losing a valuable political hostage. Kingsguards and Lannister's guards would have kept them alive, no matter their manners. Even from Joffrey, if he still had dared to kill them in a fit of rage.

It was Sansa's name, birth, her (weak) claim, her functioning as leverage over her family, and her gateway to the rebellious north for House Lannister that kept her alive in captivity. Although it is crystal clear why her stans insist otherwise.

It's all supposed to be another perfect anti-parallel with Arya (to whom she is a foil), who couldn't use the luxury of her noble name nor birth for protection, food, or shelter, and instead was forced to adapt on every step the way, make friends, use her wits to secure it all on her own and to navigate and learn a myriad of new skills and talents. It speaks volumes about the fandom's bias that a completely hypothetical conflict between "Aegon VI" and Daenerys is so ridiculously more popular than the well set up Stark succession war.

Reasons, HCs, deliberate misinterpretation and -characterization, entire convoluted plots, and their outcome are made up and promptly canonized so there is at least a basis for a deadly war between two young monarchs, the last scions of a dynasty known for incestuous marriage with one to have dragons and the greatest and most diverse army ever while the other has at max. 10.000 sellswords (+ maybbeee the support of the most sparsely populated kingdom of Westeros) and advisors still keen to arrange a marriage between said those two. (x, x, x, x)

But the possibility of a particular set of siblings i) whose dead king brother left a mess of a succession behind, where the oldest daughter has been disinherited, the bastard brother legitimized and thus becomes the oldest son of House Stark with the fallacious belief that the trueborn male heirs have been murdered, all the while a faux has become The Lady of Winterfell under the false identity of the youngest daughter of House Stark ii) where the sisters had already a strained relationship and major problems to begin with and will only be complicated once the truth of the one's betrayal comes out iii) with two power-ambitious siblings (Jon and Sansa) not caring about each other and whose mutual aversion is reinforce by their own and social prejudices iv) with two brothers (Jon and Bran) to grow estranged till a bitter rivalry is set aflame, will wage war against each other in the original outline, and almost each of them being supported by diverse fractions to settle the matter is out of question for the fandom.

For this self-proclaimed "intellectual and analytical" fandom apparently GRRM –Mr. The Human Heart at Conflict– will have two complete strangers fistfight for 2 seconds (as one party is way too overpowered compared to the other) instead of the siblings everybody is rooting for to get together again.

It's so rich from sansa stans to prester anyone, especially dany stans about claims, rights and the possibility of one's character being rejected by Westeros for whatever fanon nonsense, when it's them who should be worried the most about such matters.

Whose claim has already been dismissed by two monarchs because of her marriage (x, x)? Who has been excluded from the northern Conspiracy? Who has been disinherited by her own family? Who is currently believed dead? Who is wanted for crimes? Who will have massive problems reclaiming her disadvantageous identity with no relative close to vouch for her, no Stark looks, and no dire wolf? Whose claim, skills, and connection to Winterfell and the north utterly pales in comparison to all of her siblings? Who has besides her surname nothing going for her? Who has "deep issues to work out" with her siblings? It isn't one of the five mains.

sansa stans' treatment of leadership as compensation for suffering has to be addressed: It's infuriating to no end how discrediting and disrespectful it is towards actual arcs that set up characters as (possible) leaders. Not to mention, if one were to truly to follow this logic then Theon Greyjoy has suffered enough to get the north as well as the iron islands as compensation.

Their logic and proclamation that sansa has unintentionally developed into✨an underdog✨ like the five main characters because she remained a supervised pawn for six books (it could not possibly mean that she is simply not capable enough to rise like all main characters have), and thereby she HAS to end up on top of the game (afterall GRRM said he loves underdogs) has to be called out as well.

Stansas: Sansa is such a clever genius, she would be the perfect Lady for any keep! Arya doesn't have what it takes to be one!

Meanwhile...

It hurt that the one thing Arya could do better than her sister was ride a horse. Well, that and manage a household. Sansa had never had much of a head for figures. If she did marry Prince Joff, Arya hoped for his sake that he had a good steward. - Arya I, AGoT
