"My mother needs me home." (x Agatha All Along, S01E09)
viktor arcane has to be one of the characters ever.
he's gay. he's terminally ill. he's suicidal. he's from league of legends. he's in a toxic relationship with an orb. he also might be the orb(???). he bullshitted his way into the academy by pretending he went there. he rizzed up a guy so he wouldn't kill himself. he then tried to impress said guy by breaking into his boss's lab. then when he got caught he tried to play it off by saying he thought this big intimidating door was his bedroom door and he was just trying to sneak a guy in there. he nearly died because hetero sex was happening like a mile away. kinda. he took illegal drugs. he's also the apprentice of the guy who's making the illegal drugs and never mentions it. he's inspired off of the tale of frankenstein's monster. he got shot by a missle and fucking died. when he came back to life he immediately broke up his messy gay situationship and became jesus fucking christ.
truly one of the characters of all time
something about vi never wanting anyone in her life to change. something about jayce not caring at all how much viktor has changed so long as he's alive. something about the way vi associates radical change with death, perceiving jinx's continued existence as a kind of necromantic horror—the way jayce would shatter fundamental laws of nature without a second thought in order to give viktor the best chance at survival, in whatever form that may take. transformation as rebirth vs murder, hextech vs shimmer. nature has made us intolerant to change, but fortunately, we have the capacity to change our nature. and then jayce, realizing that he hasn't changed at all, not really—that he is a scientist at heart, and he shouldn't have tried to be anything else. and then vi, realizing she has become someone unrecognizable—never thought my sister would turn bluebelly. and for both of them, it's too little, too late.
the mf ads on this site I swear 😭💀
My brothers keep saying and I quote :
“the whole Jayce and Viktor breakup scene was such a "are you gojo satoru because you're the strongest or are you the strongest because your gojo satoru" ahhh scene”
i'm kind of shocked that viktor's glorious evolution was mostly against his will. kinda like singed's mutation if you think about it, kept alive as a selfish act of love. his "i was supposed to die..." breaks my heart
I hate jayvik
new season of arcane was just like what if jesus before the miracles was a sickly gay man. but now that he's healing the ill theres no time for homosexual yearning there are bigger fish to fry
bro really decided to wake up, break up, and become jesus
"omg jayce reciprocated" of course! the very nature of being gay lab partners is having some sort of awakening while fucking up your experiment
Can't wait for jesus (Viktor) and judas (Jayce) to reunite in Act 2 after their divorce
You look like a good joe.
I think I know what stopped me from indulging Jayvik in season 1, and it's that I got the feeling that Jayce didn't do enough for Viktor. He showed he cared for him and he got Heimerdinger fired so that they could use the Hexcore since it might just save Viktors life, but most of the time we saw Jayce, he was busy doing politics while Viktor was tirelessly working on looking for a cure for himself. It felt weird to not see Jayce, who had proven that he cared for Viktor, do exactly that as well.
Then there was also the moment with the blockade on the bridge, where Jayces words (though he apologized immediately) caused Viktor to lie to him about Singed not having been able to help, despite him previously believing that Jayce would understand.
But season 2 has proven that I (and probably also Viktor) have completely underestimated how much Jayce loves him. He saw him injured in the rubble, carried him and ran to the lab. Then he broke his promise to Viktor to destroy the Hexcore because there might be a chance of it saving him and then when Viktor came out different, all Jayce cared about was the fact that Viktor was alive.
Viktor was right, Jayce understood. He understood even more so than Viktor himself. Because his life might just be more important to Jayce than it is to Viktor.
