Jenna I loved getting to have this moment with Steve. I got him all to myself. For about 20 minutes while we shot this little bit. Pam says, Michael has so many photos. He had to get two phones with two numbers and two bills. But he's just so happy to have a family plan.

Angela So sweet, so stinking sweet.

[About Amy Ryan Not Being In The Finale]

Jenna It was a scheduling conflict. It was originally intended for Holly to also come to the wedding and also bring their kids. Ah. But Amy Ryan was not available on these dates. There was a talking head that was scripted for Holly and she was gonna be holding their children some Irish twins...It says Holly was gonna have this talking head while Dwight and Michael were dancing together in the background to Rosalita. We see this happen, but that's where this talking head would've been. And Holly says this life is good. We have two sons, Chebonshur and Lowshebin. Michael named them. He said it was based on the feeling he had when he first saw them. Then we were gonna see the kids dancing.

Jenna  This was not scripted. There was nothing for us to say. And so Paul Feig just told me to run up and tell Steve Carell goodbye. Jenna to Steve. 

Greg Daniels Have you ever said what you actually said or is that a mystery that you will... 

Jenna No, I've never really revealed exactly what I said to Steve. But, you know, the gist of it was just what it had meant to me to work with him over these seven years. And I thanked him for a few personal things that he had done for me along the way. And we both cried and we hugged each other. And I've said this before, after that first take, we went back to Paul and he was like, Okay, okay, that was amazing. That was so good. Could you do it a little faster? Cuz it was like 4 minutes. I was just like sobbing.

I had to bring a lot of emotion to the scene. You had to see Pam be convinced by Michael, and this is one of those moments when Michael becomes really good at being a boss. And he's so serious. He's like, Listen, kiddo, you quit. I quit. So that's the truth. It was very easy to get emotional because to have Steve Carell say, Listen, kiddo. I mean, I know he wasn't much older than us, but he did always have sort of like a wise, fatherly. He was our mentor. Yeah. Yeah, like exactly. And so to have your mentor coach you. It felt real, you know, and it made me emotional. And we just really connected there in a real way, and it was really sweet. I just love those Pam/ Michael moments. It reminds me of when he came to her art show and he shows up for her. And it was great. -Angela & Jenna

Well, in the script, our stage direction for the scene was this: Jim waves as Michael and Pam walk out together. We stay on their faces as they transition from fantasy to reality. -Jenna

Phil Shea wrote a letter and I was very grateful because as I read it, it helped me get in a head space because there were all these things I read but then I knew I was going to tell Michael the scripted lines of like, it's not over. And it was great, it was so helpful as an actor to have not just a blank screen there. So thank you, Phil Shea, for writing me a letter. -Jenna

I didn't have to prepare much for this because my scene partner was Steve Carell. The relationship I had with Steve in real life..he was someone I looked up to...I admired him so much. So just to have him look at me and say I'm proud of you. I just started crying. His sincerity and his truth in saying it. He's a wonderful actor and it was easy. -Jenna
