I Am All In Rewatch - Episode 4x2 (Part 1)
It's a really nice truck and it was really kind of cool to be in it. And it's nice. It's a nice, classic, well kept, well maintained truck... It's like him. It's old and out of date and well maintained. -Scott

I Am All In Rewatch - Episode 4x1
I think Lorelai was trying to put Luke out of her mind because she was so anxiety ridden about the potential of what could happen and what eventually did happen on the cruise...I kept thinking, why was he Why was Luke so irrate? It's free advertising, like anybody that comes in there can look into the diner and go let's go get a pie or let's get a coffee, and you know, kind of vice versa...That was a classic Luke rant...Well, it certainly um peaks your interest in wanting to know what the heck went on because he ran away from it so many times. But it was a good scene. It was a funny scene.... He's not all gushy and he needs to talk. And you know, it's like when the time is right, when he's prodded. You know, he's that guy, that's stubborn guy. You gotta really get it out of him, got to drag it out of him, and she did...I love the way he dragged it out. But there's more. But there's more. That's like a salesman and there's more. Wait, there's more. Uh yeah, And I just think, you know, I think that scene made it so obvious that these two really belong together, or at least they should give it a shot. You know, it's like guys give it a shot. Yes, I mean it was you know everybody. She was so relieved and he was relieved that she was relieved, and they were both kind of sitting there happy, even though he was trying to kind of fake that it didn't... Oh it didn't work out and what a pickle. But he didn't care, you know, he was with her. That was the best dialogue between those two so far. Yes, it was the most fraught with tension and consequences and so revealing of how they both felt about one another. In a very unexpected way...hey want that relationship to be pure. They wanted to be as pure as possible and that nothing, nothing can last in the face of that heat. -Scott
I Am All In Rewatch - Episode 3x22
Inappropriate? But that's Lorelai right, you mean she's well, well, of course that's what she does. That's who she is. That's her character...So she's gonna ask those questions because nobody does that, and she's gonna do it, and that's why we love her, right, we expect the unexpected...I think he's biding his time, right, and he's giving he's giving it a chance. But it's like, you know, maybe it's maybe it's fun and relaxed and it's good for him, and he knows it's good for his life, and she's having a good time and all that, but maybe he doesn't feel it's the end all be all right. But again, how would he know. It's definitely not the same feeling he has for Lorelai So I think that's why. But I think he probably feels he's never gonna get Lorelai and he's got to grow up and try something else and maybe carve out a life for himself. And I just think he's being trying to be you know, emotionally mature about it...I think I think he likes being with her. I don't know that it's it's long term, and I think he still probably has a glimmer of hope for Lorelai coming around somehow because that feeling. I think that feeling that tension is always there it's always there. That doesn't go away with somebody when you feel it to that degree for somebody...Look, man he's dreaming about her right? Have you ever had some guy come up to you and say I had a dream about you last night based on the fact that I've never met you. Do tell...only one Lorelai. There's only one of those...from Luke's point of view that there's one of her. You know, they didn't make another one of her. She's she's one in a billion, and he knows it. And however quirky or inappropriate she is, she's very special, and she's very funny and warm and loving and and what a fun life. And I think, you know, she brings out a side in him that he buries, so I think I think he sees himself, he projects himself into a future with her where he feels like he could open up a little bit and start loosening up and and having some fun and having some laughs ..It would be more fun. He knows his life isn't tremendously fun. He's a you know, he's a guy that gets up and works and he works all day and he works...And why do people do that? Why are people like that? Because you know they haven't found the one. They find the one. He's not working so much...Why do you always assume that I carry pens with me everywhere I go. That was so good. That was good...He didn't really have a close relationship with Rory, right, I mean he was dad at a distance. He was a protector at a distance. I mean, he's been there since she was a baby. This she's she's been bringing her bringing a little baby Rory into the diner since she was born. Right, So Luke's been there, you know, playing with her and Couci Couci and the whole thing. And you know, it's been seventeen years...Was he asking was she asking Lorelai's permission to go on the cruise? Was it a heat check? Because that's reality. The fantasy was... He wanted his dream to become reality, and when it didn't, he said screw it I'm going on the trip...He doesn't want to get his heart all smashed into bits if he makes his move and it ultimately doesn't work...Look, at a certain point, he's got to put his big boy pants on and take a step up. -Scott
I Am All In Rewatch - Episode 3x21
Yeah. I like that scene. I like that scene a lot. I liked it. And he actually carried her over to the other side of the house, not carried her, but he got phys, you know, he actually touched her... But I like that scene. I like that scene a lot. And it showed his, his, you know, him feeling really like a big failure and, and he acknowledged that. And I thought that was a very poignant moment in this...But it was more, it was more..He, he moved her and she didn't mind it. You know, it was like he moved her whole body over around there because he was so concerned that Rory, you know, he is protecting Rory. He didn't want her to hear this...I think there's a big void there without Jess and I'm, you know, I'm wondering what's happening and you know, without Jess there, that really does take away a lot from, from the proceedings. So I was very curious about what was going to unfold and pretty, pretty quickly we get to him getting off the bus. -Scott
I Am All In Rewatch - Episode 3x20
I think that that was one of the better openings of, of this show because it showed, it showed Luke in his element being Luke, it showed Rory in her element sort of being, oh God, dear in the headlights, what have I done? And it showed Lorelai in all of her glory, all of her comedic glory with, with when she started singing the song. It was funny....So I did notice the walk when I left that scene and started walking into the house and it was, and I remember making the choice when I saw the walk. Oh, do a slow walk. Because you don't want to go in there. It's not like you're rushing to get in there to pay, write somebody, a check. It was like dread..And I also thought it was the worst Luke flannel that I ever wore in any episode, I did not like that flannel. It didn't fit. Right. It was too small. So it bunched up my shoulders and it wasn't comfortable. -Scott
I Am All In Rewatch - Episode 3x19
I realized it wasn't okay. And it didn't make me feel comfortable at all. It made me feel really embarrassed actually. It's infuriating to be treated that way. It is infuriating because you're being treated like an object and it's is there it's disturbing. And it's disgusting. And, and I had to endure that through that entire scene and many takes, it was all about the butt the butt the butt the butt and then, you know, when, when you know, we weren't filming, we were sitting down, people were still talking about the, butt the butt, the butt. That was the most disturbing time I have ever spent on that set...Yeah. Yeah. It's, it's, it's set up where you're going to almost have to giggle because you love these characters so much and you know, everybody's doing their job within the scene and performing it so well. And the timing's there and all that, you can't help but laugh, but I'm just pointing out how incredibly small it made me feel. Doing it. And I think it re and I think it really reduces the character. And I think it really reduces their characters as well to be involved in something like that...But I think the writers saw it as an opportunity to put Laurel in a situation where she could do her comedy stick. Right. And plus you're right. That's a good point. She, she didn't have staff. So she kind of had to do it. -Scott
I Am All In Rewatch - Episode 3x18
[What do you think of the gift Luke gives her every year for five hours, five hours, five hours of handyman work.] Well, you know, well, you know he's he's a blue collar guy. What else is he gonna give her? Well A it doesn't cost him any money, okay, b it doesn't place him in a in a in a situation where he gets the wrong gift and it's awkward or it's innapropriate so it's not about that. it's convenient, it's cheap...it's kind of keeping a distance while I don't know, getting over there at the same time. It's a little weird...He can do recon in there, he can sniff around, he can snoop around, he can look at you know, what's going on in here...I like the I liked the Mallamar scene. -Scott
I Am All In Rewatch - Episode 3x17 (Part 3)
But wait a minute, wait a minute. So, so Lorelai has not really made any eyes or overtures or any inklings of interest toward Luke in several episodes. And correct me if I'm wrong. And then all of a sudden, he's he's, you know, he seems to be with Nicole and he seems pretty upbeat. And he just came off a phone call with her where he is like, kind of secret, secret. And I wanna, I wanna, you know, it's like, I put my shovel out on your chair, whatever, whatever he, you know, whatever she said, you know, it was an intimate thing obviously. And it made him blush a little. Okay. And then Lorelai hears that. And then she decides to talk about some dream. I think it's because she's pregnant. And I mean, really, it seems very manipulative...No, no. I'm not buying the argument. I'm not buying it. He, she, she wasn't significant enough in his life for a random fire, a random situation where she came randomly to his house, he was being a good guy. Why should he complicate his relationship with Nicole by dropping that Freaking bomb on, on the phone call..Now it sets up something to, to rear it's ugly head later on. Right? I don't think he had any obligation to tell Nicole that Lorelai was there. It was just not necessary. And I don't know that she had any relevance in his mind at that point talking to his girlfriend. Right. And this chance thing happened. So he's in a, he's in hot water...Look, let's face it. He's just a dumb guy who can't pull the trigger. And now he's in a bad spot. Okay?..I don't think so. I don't, I don't think, I think that was odd, odd timing. And that is not, that is not as, I think if they were sort of coming closer, if they were dating, that's something you tell a guy that you really...that's like, I'm, we've been dating for a while. Things are getting serious and we're talking intimately. And then that is revealed with a couple of cocktails...Look who she's talking to. She's talking to like the town Yokul who's who's not gonna ever use it against her. He's he's just gonna take it in. And he's, he's gonna be sort of single minded about the whole thing and do his Luke thing. He's gotta get up early and he is gotta make, you know, he's not gonna, he's not gonna overanalyze it the way we are. -Scott
I Am All In Rewatch - Episode 3x17 (Part 2)
And I just, I don't know, even though they were supposed to be connecting and, and making the bed and arguing and all this kind of stuff and, and it all felt great. I don't know. I just, I didn't feel the connection there. I didn't feel it. It, it feels like now, and maybe this is intentional from the brilliant writers that are, that they're a universe apart. They don't see, they don't feel, I don't feel like they're close. -Scott
I Am All In Rewatch - Episode 3x17 (Part 1)
I had a realization that I really like spending time with Rory. I always enjoy it and I never get sick of it because she's not animated. She's chill. -Scott
