I Am All In Rewatch - Episode 2x5

I didn't like Luke in that moment. I just I don't know. I mean, it's like I was almost like, how dare you talk to her that way in her kitchen when she's just trying to help you out. I know he didn't see what she was doing. I know he didn't have the knowledge that Jess took a beer and was about to drink it and was disrespectful to Lorelai in her own house..I just think Lorelai was completely justified going out into the porch, into the back there, taking the beer away. She was still being nice to him, she was still just trying to talk to him right, and he was being nasty, unnecessarily nasty to her and dismissive, and disrespectful, and that's her daughter, And there ain't no way that guy is not going to get red Riot Act from that woman protecting her daughter. She was 100% justified. She was even justified kicking him out, like get out of my house, because that's what I would have done if somebody talked to me that way in my own house. And I have done that....And then and Luke comes in the room, completely ignorant of what's going down, doesn't even bother to ask her what happened, doesn't even bother to give her a chance at explaining, not that he is owed an explanation well, he kind of is owed an explanation, um, and she's offering one as a friend, right, trying to explain to him what happened, and he doesn't get it, and he so he starts getting very territorial over Jess and his manhood threatened. And I just thought it was unnecessary...[I mean, jam Hands is such a classic Gilmore...] I think that's that's one of the Luke classic rants. Right, was that that wasn't the first rant, but that might be the first classic. -Scott

Angela I think so. Well, the next scene might be the final straw for Kevin. Angela gets off the phone with the senator and says, Ugh, the senator's exhausted from the campaign. He's up against a man who's so dirty, and the senator keeps pushing back as hard as he can. Kevin's like, you have to stop. And then Angela says, last night he was so tired, he just wanted a little Mexican brought in. Kevin is hysterical. It's too much for him. He leaves.

Jenna I thought this scene was very funny, but I was a little bit distracted. Angela, we have a new local mug report.

Angela Oh.

Jenna Kevin has a mug on his desk from Acker Drill Company. It was founded in 1916, and they're one of North America's largest manufacturers of drilling equipment worldwide. New local mug report.

Angela There you go.

Jenna I had my eyes open for the mugs on this episode.

Angela Clearly, they were speaking to you.

Jenna Yep.

Angela Well, right after Kevin rushes off, Oscar has a talking head where he says, I'm in big trouble. And then Kevin has a talking head where he says, Oscar's in big trouble.

Angela Jim is now going to give Dwight a little Valentine, you know, like those ones that you buy for your kids, and they're perforated and they're little squares, and sometimes they come with candy? I guess Jim's handing those out because he's a little tipsy. But in deleted scenes, there was a bigger moment here. Jim goes on to give Dwight a compliment, and we find out what Dwight finds funny.

Jenna Oh?

Angela Here it is.

Jim  You know, Dwight, I don't tell you this enough, but I think you're really funny.

Dwight Thank you?

Jim Welcome.

Dwight (TALKING HEAD) I'm not known for my sense of humor. That would appall me. But I have one. I find inversions of fortune funny, upside down houses, how a man spends his hard earned money on art, how a map distorts the size- tickling always makes me laugh.

Jenna Tickling.

Angela Tickling. I like that he would be appalled if he was known as funny.
