I, I think the writers just didn't trust that Danielle and I could carry a story as two characters like together. And that's, to me on them like that they didn't develop, the specifics of the character characters enough or their dynamic enough to like find a relationship. 'Cause even here, it just kind of becomes drama and it just becomes like, let me express to you how much I love you. And I'm like, well, yeah, but what, let's see that love, let's see it in story. Let's see the friendship. And it still isn't there. It's still just kind of talked about. So I don't know. -Rider

Cory sits down and tells Topanga, good morning, I still love you. She sighs. We can't start off the day like that. Cory admits, I don't care what you think. She throws her arms in the air with frustration. Fine. He says, fine. Is it too late to get Lauren in this episode? -Danielle

Ben's credit, he commits so well in this episode. Ben is fantastic. Really does fantastic in this episode. -Rider 

Ben is so good in this episode. Like line by line he is just making, he was killing it. He's the funniest. He's the funniest he's ever been. This is probably Ben's best comedic performance in the history of boy meets world. -Rider

It's also the most Ben consistently. -Danielle

...I mean that's what he would do every...rehearsal would make jokes. He would change the tones and then like, when it came time to deliver the scene, he would do it straightforward. But behind the scenes, this is Ben constantly because he just finds funny ways to say things. -Rider 

...I'm starting to realize this is why this episode is so funny, not just to us, but why it's so natural when we look so good is because for some reason this week, the stuff we used to do during only rehearsal for each other we decided to do for the show. So if, if it makes you wonder what the other episodes would've been like, had we, when we're screwing around during rehearsal. -Will 

Just being as unhinged. -Rider 

As we did, if we just did that, because we would do that all the time, trying to make each other laugh, doing whatever. -Will 

There was no taking this one further. It's as far as it can go. Completely unhinged. And I love it. -Danielle

You know, in my mind it had gotten so epic. But yeah, mostly I was just laughing at the in jokes and the memories. Like I, you know. -Rider

There's so many, so many. There's so many that were just us making each other try to laugh. You and I Rider couldn't look at each other at times where, I mean, it was, you could tell we're all staring off into space because we can't make eye contact with each other. It was, oh God, it was so much fun. It was so much fun. -Will 

I'm so happy to see Trina back. And yet we're I, we have so missed her as a, as the character in these last couple of weeks. And where is her? What's her standing with Shawn? -Danielle

That's the thing. We don't have any, we never talked to each other. The whole episode. -Rider 

No. She grabs your arm when she says she's scared. And you go, oh, I like this. So wait are you guys together? Not together. -Danielle

And when I make the joke about being sick as you can with...It's like no reference to her. She's all the way on the other side of the room. There's no like, oh, we're, it's very, yeah. It's, it's strange. I, yeah. I'm not sure what they were kind of thinking. I mean, she's hysterical. The screaming stuff. -Rider 

Oh my gosh. Ton of work. Really funny. Happy to see her back. But wish they had acknowledged in any way the standing of your relationship. Even if it's somehow connected to the fact that this is about Cory and Topanga being separated. I's a very easy tie in for how it plays into your relationship. -Danielle 

She could easily just say like, at least we're still together. Or you know, or I could say something. -Rider 

Before Topanga can answer, Shawn swiftly gets in between them. They're not divorced Kenny, it's just a trial separation Again with the marriage. Analogies. Wow. -Danielle

And why is it just a trial separation? Like, what is Shawn's Logic here? -Rider

No clue. Again, his dream. So in his fantasy, it's not a real breakup. It's this is, this is something where they're, they're gonna come to their senses. -Danielle 

And they want sympathy for Cory's you know, where he ends up at the end of the, of the, of the episode. And that feels tricky to me. That feels a little manipulative. Whether it's manipulative on Topanga's part or the writer's part.  I'm not sure. And that's the part I, and I'm, I'm a little both, I think, I think it's a little of both, because I was definitely surprised by the ending and I was definitely like, I turned on Topanga at the end a little bit. -Rider 

Well, yes. And that's what I'll say. That's for sure where I felt as, as Danielle playing Topanga, I felt betrayed by the writers because she says they write it then, you know, he's like, but you told me to. And she doesn't say no I didn't.  I flat out told you that if you need time with her, that's your choice, basically. Like that's what she thought she was saying. And that's what I took from it. And then she goes, and you listened. No. 

I said, I set the trap and you walk through into it. So I felt betrayed as the character by the writers later in this, the way it was set up to me. A hundred percent. I feel like it's, it's a little, it could have been more explicit. It could have been your ultimatum is walk out of here with me, with me right now, or never see me again.  She could have said that, but she says it in a little bit more of... -Danielle

Well considering where it ends up. Shouldn't she have, I mean, 'cause what you're saying is that you didn't like the writing than that other scene at a later scene. So ultimately, you, you do think that Topanga was being somewhat manipulative or... -Rider

No, I think they threw her under the bus. I think they wanted, they wanted her to be pretty clear with what she was saying up top. But then in order to keep sympathy for Cory, they threw her under the bus later. If they wanted Topanga to set a trap she could have set a trap. -Topanga 

But either way, by the end of this episode, she did set a trap. Right. Because of that line where she said, you listened. -Rider 

At the end of the episode, they want you to believe that she set a trap. I don't think she did to me. I see what you're, it could have been clear one more, one way or the other. If they really wanted a trap and they wanted it to be that Topanga set a trap. She could have said, listen, Corey, I understand you connected with somebody. I know I wanna be with you, and if you are not sure, why don't you go figure that out and when you're done, let's, let's see where we are. She could have set the trap and then been like, sorry, can't believe you had to go do that.  Instead she goes, Ooh, if you need to see this person, I could never be with somebody who wasn't a hundred percent. So if you need the time, take the time. -Danielle 

So when this turned into a really cute little friendship moment between you or between us, I was kind of, I was shocked. I was like, Danielle, we needed to do a, a better read on Shawn. -Danielle

I just hated this scene from the beginning. From the beginning. 'cause I was like, oh, we're finally talking to each other. Yeah. And it just felt like Shawn was doing a bit, you know, and like not really talking to Topanga. So I was like, oh, I don't like this. And I was like, maybe this is why Danielle and I never got to work together 'cause we just didn't work together. Well. And then when I had that turn and I start being honest, I was like, oh, I love this relationship. -Rider 

I think Topanga would've broke up with him. I do. I think she would have. I think, I think even if she realized later I may have had her an overreaction, I think, I think her reaction would not have been, oh, well, thank you for telling me the truth. I think she's, she's really hurt about the lie and I think he lied and he kissed her like, I think Topanga is saying, well, you're on your own. Cory Matthews. -Danielle 

This, you were very funny in this Rider.  It was 'cause it was big and cartoony and really just funny with a great counterpoint to what was happening in the foreground. -Will

I really liked the episode two. It's definitely lacking in a little bit of comedy...But I, it was definitely for shows where there's real, really no B storyline. It's just kind of one story about one thing. I never felt like we were in any of the sets too, like in any of the scenes too long. I felt like it moved really well. I thought, I thought it was I thought it was well acted. I thought it was grounded. I thought Ben was incredible. -Danielle

 I was like, why are they just kind of like hanging out on the bottom of the, like on the ground? It makes no sense. And then you like, stand up a little bit later. I'm like, why did they, what, what's going on? -Rider

Well, you know, one of the reasons why Trina was sitting a lot and she's covering her stomach, is she's clearly pregnant in this episode. Clearly pregnant in this episode. -Will

Wonder if that had something to do with that. -Rider

You Know, when she's sitting on the couch later she's got a pillow over and then when she stands up, you can see the baby bump. I mean, it's like, she is clearly very pregnant in this episode. -Will 

I just don't, I just feel like we don't dunno, the more, the more touching scene at the end, you know, with Corey and Topanga and Feeny, they're all saying the same thing that they say in this scene. Right. Verbatim. Like, no one, the, the lesson doesn't change. And that's why it was like, wait, what, what is this episode about? And it seems like it's about Feenie punishing us. Right? Like, it seems like it's about Feenie torturing us. And like, I don't know. It it, it's, it, it's just not that. It like, I just wanted the best lessons, best feenie lessons are revelatory, right? Yeah. It's like through the experience you are reveal something and like, ah, and we've had that up until now. But then the rest of the episode, it's just like, authoritarian. -Rider 

I walked away from the episode thinking, I, I kind of felt like the lesson was actually your good attributes could act. Could you, they could be taken to a fault...Shawn is always so quick to my circumstances will stop me. And I Exactly. So I shouldn't even bother because I have... -Danielle

An easy way out. But we've all learned all of our lessons by now. -Rider 

Now, this is the lesson Shawn didn't necessarily have when they went back to the classroom before Shawn came back going, you just wanted me to try. But that isn't true. He wanted him to realize, if you always see an obstacle and decide, well, there's my obstacle, it's not, I'm not ever gonna push past it and I just turn back and go, isn't that good enough? No. That isn't ever gonna be good enough in your life. -Danielle

Doubling down. You didn't, you didn't run a marathon, you just sprinted. But you just gotta go. It's fine. It's just more of the same. Right. It's just like you have to go further. You haven't been punished enough. You have to go, you know, -Rider 

You haven't realized that you, you the person who's stopping you. Not the actual obstacle. I think the fir in the fir, when you first went to the classroom, you were like, oh, I worked my hardest until there was a true roadblock that I couldn't imagine a way around. Right. Right. And then I said, well, I, that's a good for, I did the best that I could. That's a good for Feeny was saying, no, you have to go even past that. And you have to realize that you are so far the thing that stopped you every time. Not about the money, not about the, and maybe that idea is a is a big old, you gotta pull yourself yourself up by your bootstraps. Yeah. Thing where you know if you really wanna afford it, you work two jobs and you do it overnight. Like there's maybe some of that in there. But ultimately you did in this scene teach yourself something about your past. That you did not know in that previous scene in the classroom. -Danielle
