I return with more rottmnt headcanons BC me and my cousin are rewatching season two!

So, in the episode 'Todd Scouts' Donnie does the sign for 'explode' so ppl hc that he knows ASL!

Which is all well and good! But, I present you with a hc based on that hc!

Learning ASL with only three fingers is probably a Struggle™ so! Donnie customized the whole language and called it TSL (Turtle Sign Language) and then taught it to his brothers!

This ties into my other hc that, because Box Turtles have poor hearing, Mikey also is Hard of Hearing and Donnie made him hearing aids. When he's not using them (which is usually just when they're in the lair not on patrols or anything) they all use TSL to communicate!

Rottmnt Headcanon: Donnie’s favorite pizza is meat-lovers because fun fact spiny softshell turtles are carnivores and the idea of this skinny sassy dork absolutely devouring a meat-lovers pizza like he’s a starving man is WILDLY entertaining

So my partner and I were rambling on about rottmnt on call yesterday, as you do. Looking up turtle facts and comparing them to possible angst/fluff/interesting headcannons relating to the brothers because we're geeks.

We found out based on turtle lifespans Raph, who has proven he should never be left alone, would have to bury his brothers. I cruelly reminded my partner if Draxum messed anything up on his 'perfect creations' it would be lifespans.

Soft shell turtles can stretch their necks behind them when threatened and bite whatever they suspect to be attacking them. We headcannoned that Donnie got surprised by his tech when his battle shell was new. Out of instinct his neck lurched backwards and he bit it.

Box Turtles, unlike a lot of other turtles are fairly social. Meaning Mikey's brothers could live without him, but him not so much. But they aren't territorial so they're pretty chill with newcomers to their homes/spaces.

Red eared sliders can communicate through vibrations and such as the love of my life found this fact their first reaction was

"Does this mean Leo can Purr?"

We ranted about this headcannon, the reactions of his brothers + April and Mayhem, and how Donnie probably had a secret 'i love my brothers' file on his computer he adds clips of Leo purring to downloaded and backed up into the cloud the rest of the time.

They said if they ever write it they'd send it to me and I really hope they do but in the meantime I offer these to any writers or artists who want them please I want the content.

Donnie, as a kid, would dance to any music. any song plays? he starts bobbing and stepping to it and just vibing like crazy (especially to stimmy music that makes him :0)

and Leo either joins in and dances, or encourages it with a happy thumbs up, big smiles and/or applause like "WOOOO!!"

Leo now is also the type of person to cheer on and go "YEAH FUCK THAT GUY! WOOO" especially to encourage Donnie. Theyre partners in crime. I don't accept criticism.

I saw a post awhile ago (can’t find it now) talking about a hard of hearing Donnie hc and how soft shells get ear infections a lot and his goggles could be some kind of hearing aid type thing and I thought it was a pretty cool headcanon so I wanted to expand on it :)

i think about the library rap everyday, i just KNOW leo and donnie are constantly making songs about things, how else would leo be so good at beat boxing!!!! disaster twins have a song in their heart!!!

Headcanon that since Leo is not much for non comic books, he gained all his medical knowledge through very graphic and in depth medical videos instead.

The boy is no longer phased in the slightest by it anymore. The others cannot say the same whenever they catch a glimpse of a surgical operation playing on Leo’s phone.

His portaling abilities also give him the ability to secretly join med students in watching operation room procedures.

Listen I just think Medic!Leo would go about his learning process in the most Leo of ways.
