C3 E114 SPOILERS
absolutely insane how vex has now died 5 times. the most deaths of any player character in CR history. probably any character, really. and like. it's fitting that it's her, isn't it? and not just because she has such a low constitution and health point pool, and continues to go tits-out with no regard to that.
but like. of course, the only person to die more than death's champion himself is the champion's twin. vex's death is actually the one that triggered the weave of vax's fate with the matron, the love of a brother trying to drag her back. and that follows her, both as vax continues to stand at her side like a shadow, and as each of her deaths is undone, time and time again. the other half of the one who ferries dead souls. i can see it as some narrative that he continues to shield her from death, but their bond keeps dragging them together. i can also see it, simply, as a sister trying to out-do her brother, just like when they were kids.
plus, there's something either hilariously coincidental or terribly poetic about her having died once for each of her kids. five deaths to accompany five births. there's something there about a cycle of life and death, about balance, maybe. or even just how she keeps clawing to keep hold of the life and future she's made for herself, the one she'll always regret that her brother sacrificed to save her.

thinking about vex’s feelings about saving vax and these quotes from this webweave i did a while ago
like i was already just chewing on these but ESPECIALLY after laura mentioning on 4sd that she hopes the raven queen will just . give him back . i’ll literally be just chilling and then bang. vex’ahlia de rolo character of all time shoots through my head like an arrow . thinking about keyleth saying “i don’t even want to hope” versus vex insisting they can’t lose hope. vex playing the realist and the pragmatist on the surface who knows things always have a cost or a cruelty but also always having her hopeful heart under it. vex who helped in a resurrection ritual for her brother but chose to speak with his god instead of with vax himself. vex who could confess her feelings to percy when it was a matter of calling him back to life but when he was alive she hid behind excuses that it would be awkward and the timing was wrong all the whilst carrying a bow with the echo of his words carved into its wood. she is sO.
and the way she refers to their aim. occasionally suggesting theyre saving vax and the ambiguity leaving space for Hope that she might get her brother back, but then other times just saying “get him out of there/the orb” what if i died. what if vex was a character with such consistent traits arduously grounded in her backstory, her relationships, and the events she encountered throughout the campaign that it killed me. what then

Vex warmup
laudna's design in retrospect is weird comparing it to her alive look in the cartoon. which is in a different continuity, naturally, but like. it is kinda weird that they did go for the "dead = all the blood is drained out of your body" look if the twins have been retconned into being mixed.
like if she had that complexion then it should look a little more like this you feel me.
It is funny watching Laura play and commit to Vex’s complete animosity toward the Matron of Ravens after she played her in Downfall
