I call it Living Paintings, as they are recreations of extinct animals that some artists actually saw and painted from memory, a long time ago.

OK SO a frozen baby Homotherium mummy has been found in Siberian permafrost and everybody is going nuts (including me). I had to make another installmente for this series with a figurine that has long been debated to either depict either a lion or Homotherium; Despite anatomical details pointing to the latter, there was no record of surviving Homotherium from the time the figurine was dated to have been made, so it was mostly believed to have been a cave lion. However, the frozen cub closes that temporal gap and makes it more likely that this was in fact the subject of the sculpture. So even though it’s not a painting, here it is brought to life.

You know, I thought it was but when looking up this X account I unfortunately think it may be real. There’s a lot of genuine conspiracy theories there and it doesn’t read like parody. And they have multiple social media profiles, accepting tips, which isn’t very characteristic of a troll. It’s all pretty fringe even for the right though.

It's a waste of money, but I say FAFO. I mean, if these bells are made and rung and, you know, NO shapeshifters and demons appear, then maybe these dipshits will realise that people that aren't in their little club AREN'T in fact demons in disguise. (I've watched too much Telltale and he covers nutball preachers and some of them literally believe that Democrats are demons in human skin).

Silly kitten, if the bell doesn't reveal any demons then it's OBVIOUSLY because they were able to sabotage the bell. Or maybe they used a special potion using baby's blood and puppy tears.

Abolish  the  Electoral  College 

Encourage your state to join the National Popular Vote Interstate Compact. In states that adopt it (18 so far), whoever wins the national popular vote for president gets 100% of each states’ electors.

Once enough states join whose electors add up to the crucial number of 270 … poof, the electoral college is IRRELEVANT!

the lesson I'm taking away from this election is not that the Democrats need to become more left wing or more right wing but moreso that they need to find a way to cater their rhetoric towards people who genuinly have no idea what is going on. the target audience for every speech and political appearance should be someone who doesn't know what the three branches of government are because they were drawing a Cool S during high school civics

I remember my mom explaining the Carter administration to me once, and said that it was her opinion that Reagan won because he was able to say “I’m not gonna let an energy crisis prevent me from driving my car!”

Like Carter may have been “right,” and pragmatic in the way he handled that, but Reagan made people feel like they could do what they wanted, which seems to be the average American’s concept of “freedom.”

It turns out people really really like the protections and support they get from the Affordable Care Act but don’t like “Obamacare” which anyone who is even mildly informed knows they’re one in the same.

What republicans have mastered is controlling a narrative, and democrats like being “right,” more than they like winning elections, so idk what to do about the fact that what almost everyone is saying is “I don’t make enough money to live the kind of life I want,” and republicans have used that to turbocharge the spiral into fascism by saying that’s because of immigrants and trans people.

I haven't been sharing much about the election, for my general mental health, but I think this one hit the nail on the head for a lot of it.

The average voter is incredibly ignorant of how the government works, the separations and limitations of the powers of any individual actor, basic facts like how much of high prices is actual economics vs corporate greed, or that most changes and improvements take time and aren't anything close to immediate quick fixes. Nor do they understand how complicated just about any issue is.

And the average voter didn't even have Civics offered at their school these days. Ignorance is by intent.

I was trying to find a clip of Nixon's Head saying "The average voter is as drunk and stupid as ever!" and could not. Perhaps this will suffice. Civics class aside, more Americans just need to watch Futurama. This is pretty much it! (Please, future, do not preserve Trump's head. It's bad enough that you've got Nixon's).

I'm currently making a survival book, its going to inclue everything you need to run, how to cross borders (only if necessary), the safest states right now, the unsafest states, how to protect yourself in a red area, what places to stay at if your running, nearby jobs and other ways to get money, what foods are best to get, how to make certain foods, electronic related advice, the safest messaging apps, what not to say in messages, guide to doctors if you have a uterus or are a women, what plants are safe to eat, various poisons, how to deal with cops, a map of the local area and where cops hang out, how to survive in the woods, clothes you should bring, what to do about your period if your on the run, methods of birth control and what's the best, how to legally change your name and the amount of money it costs, how to a car if your in a non walkable area, first aid tips, how to get and use a burner phone, what type of weapons you might need and how to use them, a guide on how to use most commonplace guns, chargers to use for any devices you might bring.

All of it, I've got multiple notebooks to I'm spreading it across them.

I'm not doing any of those things yet technology wise (I'm on all the worst stuff) because I'm not yet setting up for the Revolution just yet, nor do I really care if I die... Maybe if things get really, really bad - in which case I might just go completely dark tech-wise. For interest, in the cooking / food department, if we do actually get bombed back to the stone age, I enjoy watching a cooking show all about historical cooking, American colonial-period. The guy cooks in old school clay ovens and over hearths and campfires. Might be useful. Townsends
