“people were losing their minds about Tan having they/them pronouns and im like….. “yall have either not played the game or have the IQ of sub brick because there are a lot of other entities in this game that use they/them. hell, daedric princes can be man, woman, or box for all they care.””

There is a quest on the Summerset Isles where a woman asks us to find her brother who joined a house of performers. We speak with the leader who permits us to look for the brother under the condition that we can guess and tell her which of the performers is the brother based on the clues his sister gave us. (They all wear masks).

Yeah, turns out none of the performers are the brother, because he transitioned and became the leader of the group.

She ran away before she could join a magic school/circle because she was deeply unhappy and scared to out herself.

There were diary entries about how she came home drunk and in tears with make up smeared all over her. Her sister (who sent us to look for her) thought she had an affair with one of the performers or something.

You can make the sisters reconnect. They sit down at the beach and talk to one another.

While this does not translate to the usage of they/them pronouns the elder scrolls have always been queer, anyone who claims otherwise is either lying to themselves, you, or hasn't played the games.

AH ALCHEMY MY BELOVED QUEEN!

i loved that quest.

Also Azandar has a friend named Martina that is referred to with both they/them and she/her pronouns! Vivec, a fuckin GOD, is gender-fluid, presenting sometimes as masculine, sometimes feminine, and sometimes BOTH at the same time.

This post just highlights a few of the examples of transgender/gender non-conforming characters in ESO lore. That’s not including other TES games AND the countless other examples of non-heterosexual characters/relationships in the franchise.

TES has been for queer people by queer people for EVER. This whole wave of people suddenly bitching about queerness in media (ex: Dragon Age, Marvel, Disney) makes no sense considering how they didn’t bat an eye until a couple years ago……..

Hmmmm………… wonder why………… what recent people/events could have possibly revived a surge of queerphobic panic……………. /s

we have forgotten that the argonians can change their gender via the hist, though.

theres a whole quest in Murkmire where you help two lovers— who both transitioned— get together.

Okay, hear me out.

Raz and Darien play very similar narrative roles in their respective factions' storylines, but their core characters are night and day from one another.

i always imagine the heart of lorkhan had a sort of irresistible pull to everyone around it. once you find it and see it, you want to use it. you need to find some way of using it. you will stop at nothing to discover its secrets. it is a pull no mortal can resist. its the literal heart of the world. it wants to be used.

which is why its fun to imagine why the fuck nerevar seemed immune to it. he is the most power hungry dude around at that time. he went from a caravan guard to king. you dont just do that by accident. even if it didnt have an irresistible pull its weird to go "huh. why is that"

i think Neravar saw it as either a means to an end, and didnt want to use it unless absolutely necessary, OR he thought it was either too pure (or too dark, cant remember shit about fuck anymore) and swore to himself he wouldnt use it.

There are some things you can disagree on and still be friends. Pineapple on pizza. DC v Marvel movie franchises. Dogs v cats.

But fascism and trying to dictate how others define themselves or live their lives? Yeah, no, that's not on the list.

imma write a thing where Raya is being sent by her mom (Azura) to find out what the fuck is going on in Reaper’s March. Bastian goes with her, and Darien is like “okay I guess I’ll go in spirit.” they have Azander and Nathaniel (listen ive put too much thought into this, if shes gonna marry Darien she cant be calling her father-in-law General.) that is how the team meets Zerith, who immediately notices who Raya is, and is a little more tripped out than he is in game, but thats to be expected when you meet the spawn of Abnur Tharn and Azura.

this is a WIP, just posting to my blog for musings ig. (and bc i havent posted anything other than shitposts in forever)

the beauty of skyrim's unmarked locations is that you can stroll up to like, a bear cave and after you kill the bear you just like find a corpse called like, bjorn bear-exploder and you loot him and you find an unique weapon like. the bear exploder sword that has a 10% chance of exploding bears and is completely dick useless. and then you just move on with your life.

barely hyperbole by the way
