Li'l Sweetcakes Pony Blog

@lilsweetcakes

My Little Pony blog of all generations. Pictures from my own personal collection, purchases and restoration efforts. Plus reblogs of pony pictures I've taken a fancy to. My username is after my favorite childhood pony. If anything is reblogged from jer-tan, that's just a repost from my main blog.

I'm not sure if anyone who looks at this blog is from when I used to fix up points many years ago. But yeah I used to do that all the time back then.

anyone else ever head removed a flower fantasy? i got a love petal with visible tail rust but holy fuck her neck seal is genuinely airtight. when i tried boiling and twisting it just created a vacuum and i could hear air escaping from her tail. the water can't even get at the glue to soften it. it's like a gen 3 in here. mostly just curious if they're all like this because i've never had to xacto knife any g1 before. unless there’s a non-head removal way to clear out tail rust yet that i’m not aware of.

Great question, I am reblogging in hopes someone can answer! I have a Flower Fantasy pony with manky hair that I would like to reroot. (I think mine is also Love Petal . . . the purple one who should have light pink hair.)

No, but this sounds kind of crazy but you can still work on the tail rust.

This is a pic from 2017, as you can see she has a horrible case of tail rust. I'm trying my best to recall what I did. So there is this product called CRL. It's a rust stain remover for bathrooms and is a bathroom/kitchen general cleaner. You can use it on plastic. What you need to do is have the pony's tail absorb the fluid.

After it gets in there it can and will start removing the rust. This is a product I used to clean washers in ponies I could get their heads off (one of the washers is in the bottom of the dish)

But be warned. Keep them in too long can and will discolor the plastic. I cannot give you a window of time this will occur because I forgot I was soaking a pony for an extended period of time (months).

But this will help get rid of the rust from inside the pony

A safer method might be just to treat the stain of the tail with CRL without allowing its butt to be soaked. You will leave it in the tail for a bit in for a bit so it will start to work on the strain. It won't get rid of the rust on the washer, but it will get rid of the stain on the exposed part. Just makes sure you use a neutral soap afterwards.

for documentation's sake.

a smattering of g1 prototypes have popped up on ebay. listing here.

This auction is for an original Hard Copy My Little Pony Unproduced Preschool Concept Presentation piece.  This piece is all handmade and hand painted.  Pony is pink with blonde hair and mane.  Comes with a plastic yellow hat and pink comb.  There are hard rubber yellow bows coming out on each side.  This piece was made about 15% larger and was to be for a introduced for a preschool line but was never produced. There is some very minor chipping to the bottom of the feet and the number 5 imprinted on the back right foot.  There is also one small chip on the nose.   This is an amazing piece of My Little Pony history.

What a bright pink! 💖

15% larger . . . This makes me wonder if the Precious Pocket ponies were using molds from this unused concept. They are a bit bigger than other adult ponies.

Baby Buttons! She is one of my childhood ponies and still in mint condition. To me, unicorn babies in this pose always seem to look extremely shy and delicate. Precious little thing, I’m glad I kept her!

I wasn’t aware that she isn’t one of the most common ponies, I only found out after I couldn’t find her on StrawberryReef or the Wiki (she’s there though, I was given the link) and asked on the Arena about her.

Guess what! I got to go to the National Toy Museum Hall of Fame induction today :D My Little Pony FINALLY made it into the Hall, after SEVEN failed attempts by members of the community to get them recognized. bottom 4 pics are of the display in the Hall of Fame, top two are regular museum displays :D
