Hey everyone! The time has come, and we’re super excited to announce the prompts for this year’s SasuSaku Month!
This is a big year for SasuSaku, obviously because we’re officially CANON, but also because SS Month is celebrating its 5th anniversary! This event has been going on since 2011, long before it came to be based on tumblr, and it’s very exciting for us new mods to be planning the fifth one (and of course hopefully more in the future!).
Now, onto the logistics! PLEASE read this since some things have been slightly altered!
We’ve changed the organization for prompts slightly this time around, with each week having a specific theme: “Prelude” (Free Choice/Themeless), “Beginnings” (Children/Genin), “Interlude” (Adolescence/Young Adulthood), “The After Years” (Adulthood/Married Life), “In Another Life” (Alternate Universe). Throwback to the first SSM back in 2011, where there were themed prompts as well!
Each prompt will fall under that week’s specific theme. This is to help fuel creativity and range for the fanworks, because we know that since November (and now especially with Gaiden), we’ve all been quite focused on canon SSS family.
That said, of course if you feel restricted or have an amazing idea for the prompt that just doesn’t seem to fall under the theme, that’s a-ok! These themes are suggested guidelines, not absolute. (Though we do strongly encourage exploration of them, since we chose the prompts based on these themes - we think they can work very well together!)
As always, you can interpret the prompts as loosely or as strictly as you want, and we accept fanworks in any form - art, fiction, AMVs, poetry, graphics/edits, collages, fanmixes, baked goods, cosplay, etc etc. If it fits the prompt and it’s SasuSaku, go wild!
1) Post your fanwork(s) on the day of the prompt.
2) You can post your work on other websites (LJ, FFN, AO3, DA, pixiv, etc), but if you do frequently use your Tumblr, we encourage you to post it here for our organization and cataloguing purposes.
If you don’t post it on Tumblr, you must fill out the submission form here (a Tumblr account required) and submit it to the blog, otherwise your work will not be featured on the official blog. Include a link to your work.
3) Those who use Tumblr: you do not need to fill in a submission form this year. Instead, tag it with ssmonth15, and the subsequent tags for whichever category your work falls under:
ssm15fanart, ssm15fanfiction, ssm15edit, ssm15cosplay, ssm15poetry, ssm15amv, and so on and so forth. (All one word.)
AS WELL AS TAGS FOR THE DAY: ssm15d1, ssm15d2, ssm15d3, etc.
If you don’t know what specific tag to use just tag it with ssmonth15 and the day tag and we’ll see it and reblog it.
Remember: Tumblr only records the first five tags for searchability.
4) All ratings welcome, but please note M-rated works in the subject/title line.
5) No bashing of any characters, and respect the canon SSS family as is. You don’t have to include Sarada in your family fanworks if you don’t want to, but please respect her existence.
6) Have fun! This is an awesome event and our first canon SSM, so we want everyone to enjoy themselves and bask in the glory that is SasuSaku!
