a series of omakes (3/3)

these are inserts/back stories that couldn’t make it into sixty minutes : omake 1 || 2 || 3 omake: how did adrinette happen?

so we really had a backstory on how everything went down with adrinette, but we thought that it would be unnecessary to incorporate it within the story. it all started with adrien and mari finally knowing their partners alter-egos. unfortunately, both of them decided to keep it a secret, not knowing they’ve been running in circles in hiding their respective discoveries for quite some time. after one uneventful midnight patrol, mari finally resolves to tell her partner.

lb: wish me luck? I’m planning on confessing to the boy i like.

cn: wait. (catches her arm, wide-eyed in panic) don’t.

lb: (after her heart restarted) oh. okay then. (turns to leave)

cn: (panics even more) ladybug, wait. hey! will you please wait?

lb: it’s late and it’s a school night. (studiously avoids eye contact) and we have exams. bye, chat.

cn: my lady, i think we should talk about this. (touches her arm placatingly) i think we might be misunderstanding each other… and we can’t afford that…

lb: (shakes off his hold with a shrug) god, chat noir! (faltering scowl) for once in your life will you please leave me alone when i tell you to?

cn: sorry for being a pain, my lady. i… good luck. and… goodb– (posture slackens, head, arms, and tail low) good night.

see chat noir has been listening to his lady talk about this boy in school for the past how many years now. lately, he thought they were finally becoming closer, him and ladybug, him and marinette. and hearing her say she was going to confess to somebody, to that mysterious apple of her eye, just jolted him with sheer panic.

because if she confesses to someone else—and only a fool would turn her down, a fool he’d be hard pressed not to punch for making her cry—he would never be able to confess to her.

as it turns out, he waited too long.

alya: so wait a minute… when the ladrien-ladynoir civil war happened, did you guys know each other’s identity?

mari: it was ridiculous, but sadly we didn’t know our identities yet. not at the beginning anyway.

adrien : ridiculous? it was glorious! haven’t you read the fics and seen the fanarts? It was amazing. mari : if you meant glorious, did you even see the thousands of ladrien dubsmash vids?

nino : the one they made vid footages lipsync them to love ballads? it was such a good meme.

alya : don’t remind me of that time. i’m getting so many war flashbacks.

nino : that was when alya was at her most ferocious. i mean she could snap her subordinates with a glare when somebody even breathes the first syllables of that ship name.

mari : didn’t i know it. (sarcasm) I remember i was so worried that i gave alya basic tai chi relaxation movements just to calm down. then we both signed up for yoga lessons. nino : she was about to do illegal doxxing & almost ddosed the ladrien.com. alya : EXCUSE ME I DIDN’T nino : (deadpan stare) i saw your sandbox servers and vpns adrien : thank god that didn’t happen. i invested a lot on that site. mari : what? alya : you’re their greatest anonymous sponsor?

adrien : …..

alya : YOU DIDN’T EVEN DONATE TO LADYBLOG ADRIEN

adrien : (small voice) …all of your ships are canon?

The moment the cameras stop rolling, Ladybug excuses herself to go to the bathroom. As soon as she leaves, Chat Noir pounces for the tuna canapés the waiter finally succeeds in placing at the table. The feline crime fighter tosses back the delicately constructed table crackers and aioli-topped dollops of seared tuna into his mouth, one after the other. He grins sheepishly at Alya in between swallows, but doesn’t stop munching until his partner comes back.

“I thought you said you ate before you got here, Chat?” Ladybug says coolly.

“I did,” Chat Noir says. “I just got hungry again.”

Ladybug simply huffs and returns to her seat beside Chat Noir, as he looks longingly at the plate of roast beef sliders dotted with horseradish sauce. Alya tries to concentrate on looking through her Twitter feed, noting the jump of hashtag mentions from the last time the producer pulled up the feed on screen for the viewers to see. Ladybug’s dream wedding is causing quite a commotion.

“I’m really sorry I can’t be there tonight,” Marinette repeats as Alya is saying goodbye to her on the phone. “But you know how Father gets. Catch you at the afterparty, all right?”

“Marinette, please,” Alya says. “As if I haven’t gotten used to your fickle luck all these years. Maybe they’ll stick around for the party and you’ll finally meet Ladybug.”

“Fingers crossed.”

Alya takes a calming breath and one last look at the mirror. Finally satisfied, she heads for the set, the set from where the tenth anniversary special of her web series is about to stream worldwide.

Alya’s Take started as a segment of the Ladyblog, the receptacle of research, pictures, videos, analyses, and even theories she had collected and developed involving Paris’s very own superhero duo, Ladybug and Chat Noir. What started as 15-30 minute analysis of akuma fights developed into more of a bi-weekly talk show that covered other issues relevant to the greater Metro Paris. Both the show and blog served as the perfect portfolio for her admission to prestigious journalism schools, internships, and her eventual hire in a national news agency. For the past two years, Alya’s Take has also been a ten-minute segment of a daily morning show on a major local channel. The bi-weekly web series, meanwhile, expands on some particular topic, featuring expert opinions and first-hand accounts from invited guests. They are pre-recorded and admittedly in part subject to her agency’s influences, but it is well-respected for pursuing tough questions, while showcasing balanced and opposing viewpoints.

But in the anniversary special Alya’s Take is returning to its roots, informally formatted and non-scripted, streaming live from the Le Grand Paris. Admittedly, Alya’s first instinct was to turn down Chloé Bourgeois’s offer to shoot the episode in her father’s hotel, but the nostalgia factor is too important to dismiss. Many akumas have been fought and defeated in and on the luxurious building (which probably has to do with Chloé’s singular talent in enraging people), so Alya set aside her personal feelings and accepted. After all, she wants only the best for her special guests, the superhero duo themselves, the cornerstone of her very career, Ladybug and Chat Noir.

I wanted to draw tikki as a french bulldog <3 who would often chill around the salon. She just usually hangs out at the reception area. but there are times when nervous a really nervous customer would asked marinette if they could hold tikki during the process.

Marinette Dupain-Cheng, creative director of WILD, the readywear daughter company of the venerated Gabriel, had been busy responding to emails when her assistant strutted to her office, coffee and a magazine titled Fireworks and Pizzaz at hand.

“Ms. Mari,” Aster said with a quirk of one finely shaped brow. “You might want to read that article.”

“Aster, I barely have time to skim through the preliminary sales report for this quarter before the directors meeting,” Marinette muttered. “What’s makes you think I’d have time to pick something else when the meeting is in two hours and eleven minutes?”

“Well. Mr. Gabriel might have a couple of questions about it. If you’re lucky, he’d wait till after the meeting and in his office.”

Mari finally looked up from her computer to shoot an inquiring look at the perfectly coiffed young woman wringing her hands before her desk.

“You know how he gets about anything related to his son.”

“Aster, what is going—”

Aster empathetically tapped on the article the magazine was opened to, but she was interrupted by three firm knocks on her boss’s door, followed by the door swinging open to admit the visitor before either could answer a welcome.

“Good morning, father,” Marinette said, rising respectfully.
