AUs for SatoSugu I think would be neat!
Prestigious Arts/Acting Academy AU: they both attend a very prestigious School of Arts, where they’re obviously rivals and they slowly fall for each other. Watch them go from rivals to friends to lovers. Make them the lead actors in a play. See how they try and use their acting skills to hide their feelings (failing miserably). Make it a boarding school too so they have to spend their holidays together as well.
Summer Love AU: No Jujutsu Sorcery! Suguru comes from Okinawa and he spends his summer helping his parents out with their cafe. Rich boy Gojo comes for his holidays and they both bond over their shared love of surfing. At first Suguru is quite cold to Gojo, he thinks the other man is stuck up and arrogant and Gojo thinks Suguru is pompous and pretentious. They spend the summer surfing, tanning, doing stupid dares, and then realising that the other one is the first real friend they’ve ever really had. Shoko is here too, having a great time chatting up ladies on the beach. They’re falling for each other while ignoring the fact that this won’t last. It’s bittersweet and beautiful. Give me a summer festival fireworks confession too!
Do I Know You? AU: Gojo and Geto have never met before. But when they cross paths they get the feeling that this isn’t their first encounter. Deja vu? Soulmate from a past life? Childhood friend forgotten by amnesia? It doesn’t matter when every interaction feels familiar and safe. Is it falling for a stranger if you feel like you know them better than you know yourself? You know how they like their tea, you know their favourite book title, you know exactly what it feels like to kiss them before your lips have even touched. Maybe they don’t need all the answers, maybe it’s enough to have each other.
Gods AU: Gojo and Suguru are gods— until Suguru commits a heavenly offence and is cast out, stripped of his godliness. He roams the earth, cursing the heavens, vowing to bring hell rampaging at its doors. Gojo has been tasked with stopping him, and must go down to earth to find him and kill him. He disguises himself as a mortal and roams the lands looking for him. He finds the JJK bunch and he begins to fall in love with the mortal realm. Everything is beautiful because it’s finite. He finds Suguru has fallen in just the same way. Of course they battle but they end up stopping. It’s pointless. They spend much of their time on earth, living, loving as mortals. Will it last? Or will it all come crashing down once the other gods find about Gojo’s betrayal, raining down their ire?
Similar vein, Princess Kaguya AU: you know how it goes, heavenly being is born as a mortal, falls in love with the simple way of life and Gojo and Suguru are in love. Of course the heavenly beings want Gojo back, so they make him so unhappy that he’ll wish to go back. Tragedy ensues.
Model x Photographer AU: Geto has worked with a lot of models. He’s also slept with a lot of them too. He doesn’t think Gojo is going to be any different. He’s definitely much more beautiful, strikingly so, but from the petulant, whining attitude he’s seen the man display (as well as how self-centred he is) he’s certainly just as dim as all the others. Gojo’s never met a prick that’s so full of himself— other than himself, but at least he’s self-aware. Too bad they’ve got a contract for 6 months and on paper they’re perfect together. A clash of egos and attitudes, leading to mutual understandings of each other, a tentative bond forms, maybe there’s some casual sex, and slowly they begin to fall. Geto makes a piece to show off at an exhibition: how he sees Gojo. It embodies all his feelings for him. Gojo’s never felt so seen.
Bounty Hunter AU: very simple, they are bounty hunters. They sass each other, they try not to get holes blown in each other, very Cowboy Bebop. Shoko’s also there, being the no nonsense, level-headed captain of their ship.
Terraformer AU: they’re both scientists who work isolated just in a two person team. Why are they colonising this planet? They begin to question the higher-ups motives. They also begin to fall for each other, as one might do while being trapped with only one other person for months. They also annoy the shit out of each other while trying to unravel gov conspiracies. (inspiration came from @newbie-i-guess and her high tech farmer AU idea for them)
Mermaid x Pirate AU: Gojo is a mermaid— MERMAID ROYALTY. He wants to see what life as a human is like and why not a pirate? Adventure! Treasure! Great voyages! And he can be near the ocean at all times. So he runs away and finds Geto’s ship. He begs to join and hooray! He’s a pirate! Too bad he has to pretend like he can’t swim lest his secret gets found out. Geto just thinks he’s some noble’s son and doesn’t question why he can’t swim. Of course when Geto nearly drowns during a battle and is saved by Gojo, suspicion follows. The two of them are deserted on a small island for some while, so they’ve got plenty of time to figure it out. He eventually finds out about Gojo’s secret, but by this time they’ve formed a very strong bond (and maybe some feelings). Maybe there’s some tragedy with Geto wanting to steal treasure from the mermaid city. Perhaps Gojo gets captured by other pirates to be sold as a specimen.
Fay AU (prompt by @newbie-i-guess): Gojo is a fairy, because look at him ofc he is. Geto is a changeling. Magic and hijinks to follow.
Assassin AU: Geto has finally infiltrated Gojo Satoru’s inner circle; he’s been working hard to get close to him for months. It’s stupid, but he’s fallen for the target. Make it a comedy with ANGST. He has to remember the exorbitant fee he’s been paid to kill him, remind himself that he’s the world’s best assassin, but it falls flat compared to Gojo’s genuine smile, something only he’s seen. Perhaps Gojo’s fallen for his (fake) bodyguard as well. Too bad Geto’s now tasked with saving Gojo from other assassins like Toji Fushiguro and making sure Gojo doesn’t kill himself by overdosing on sweets.
