I have no energy for death note remakes if they are not gonna be gay. It was acceptable in the early 2000s but any adaptation of death note made in this day and age now has to have canonical lawlight stripping each other off the wet clothes on the stairs or what's the point

I feel like every one assumes Light is straight cause he's kinda boring at first glance and has a girlfriend, at To-Oh specifically.

So imagine his queer classmates surprise when there was a commotion at the pride parade, and it turns out to be Light fucking Yagami being bodily held back by that Hideki Ryuga guy, his (later revealed) boyfriend from jumping a group of obnoxious protesters because they got a little too brave

Light manages to scare them off (without PHYSICAL violence) and turns around to see a group of his pleasantly surprised classmates like oh. Hey. L wipes the sweat off of his forhead and smiles (dealing with violent Light is a strenuous activity) and introduces himself to them.

Light tsks cause he messed up the rainbow facepaint on his cheek, and gets out the pallet to fix it and his own, and they all hang out for the rest of the day. The classmates are amused to learn about this chaotic side to the perfect student Yagami, and Ryuga is actually pretty great once you get to know him

They walk together, Light and L with a big pride flag around their shoulders and even bigger smiles
