Cyberpunk 2077 was a cautionary tale of bad management, tired open-world design cliches and unregulated crunch leading to an absolute disaster of a release. I remind you: the game was so bad that shortly after release, Sony removed it from the store and offered refunds. Everyone agreed that it was an absolute shit game, an emblematic instance of how bad the game industry had gotten.

And then a half decent anime happened and the conversation changed overnight.

Suddenly people were saying Cyberpunk was great, that it was underrated, that everyone should play it again. The switch-up was instant, and shallow. People were back to giving CD Projekt Red their money, despite their continuing bad business practices, all because a spin-off made them think happy thoughts about the brand.

So no, not a fan.

For all its flaws I’ve liked Cyberpunk 2077 since day 1. Was it poorly managed? Yes. Was it fun? Yes. I sunk hundreds of hours into that game Before the anime came out.

It's not daring to have low standards and weak principles

Or people could have a different taste than you. I haven't played the game, not going to anytime soon, I might do it one day. If someone enjoys it that's good for them, if someone doesn't enjoy it, that's their call. Save the hate speech for things that actually matter, if someone enjoys playing with soil in their backyard then who are we to disagree?

Cyberpunk 2077 is a game that glamourizes a world that caters to straight white male tastes, even as it pays lip service to the idea of it being a dystopia, and ultimately concludes with the moral that trying to effect change for the better is a futile effort that only ends miserably for those who try. Especially for anyone who isn't a white man.

And Edgerunners is mediocrity for anyone whose tastes don't revolve around treating shonen anime as the pinnacle of storytelling, with the same nihilistic mindset and treatment of characters beyond white men as mere meat to be used as props and disposed of.

Reminder that Madoka never shows any sort of romantic interest in Homura, while the romantic interest Homura shows in Madoka is used solely to vilify her as a predator and abuser when the franchise isn't fetishizing two teenage girls for adult male audiences.

why? doesn't make sense for Viz to buy a property that's on its way out, nor does it make sense narratively given the show's pacing and how many plot threads need to be wrapped up (dealing with Tyrian/Mercury/Asturias Twins. who the Summer Maiden is. dealing with Cinder. resolving what happened with Summer. where the Beacon Relic is. dealing with Salem, and then after that, dealing with the brothers because they started this whole mess so Oz can finally die for good and not subject anyone else to his cycle of reincarnation) that absolutely cannot be handled in a single run of 12-14 episodes

if anything Viz acquiring the show is gonna give those plot threads room to breathe a little more, but it's definitely not getting done in a single season, get real

I'm so tired that after getting some of the best news we could have possibly gotten, like literal best-case scenario we still have so many freakin' doomsayers.

Has this show taught you nothing?

You just have to remember that the people saying these things are either people who:

a.) know how absurd such claims are, and are spouting them purely to concern-troll;

b.) are genuinely so head-up-butt that they think that's what will happen, purely because they want the series to not exist.

Honestly, it wouldn't surprise me of the pools of life are either in the ocean, on a different continent that hasn't been discovered by humanity 2.0, or were defiled with grimm and converted into a new grimm pool

Well, the first and last aren't great for my purposes but you've got a good point about a different continent or even an undiscovered large island.

The last time it was really seen was during a time when everyone had magic so I imagine teleporting yourself there wasn't an issue.

Even at that, I'm also thinking of plates moving and shifting things around. Wherever the pools were may have moved, and until we get a full look at the world, it's very possible there are lands that are unknown due to not exploring that far out and having issues with actually exploring with dust.

It may have been possible the pools were closer and easier to get to, but after humanity was wiped and the thousands... hundreds of thousands of years of the world shifting may have changed how close to any settlements they are

I automatically lose any trust in someone who says they don't like Blake. Not even because I'm a huge Blake stan or anything. But like most of the time its because she happens to be a survivor of abuse who was forced into a situation where she had to kill her abuser/groomer and they think she's a bitch for that or some bullshit.

They almost always immediately follow up their claim of not liking Blake with claims she murdered Adam or 'doesn't do enough for faunus rights', so at least you don't have to spend long wondering if you're being unfair.

Also accusations of her being a "princess", in reference to the life she left behind in continuing to fight for what she believed in (and yanno, because civic service is Innately Evil unless you're a military authoritarian)~
