Cole Sprouse’s French interview translated to English!
As the Mid-Season Finale draws near, filming of the second half of Riverdale Season 2 has already begun. Melty's editorial is fortunate to be currently on the set of the series taking place in Vancouver, Canada. In particular, we met Cole Sprouse, Jughead's interpreter. The latter confided about the Bughead couple, the evolution of his character but also about the series in general. The actor first admitted that one of the first things that appealed to him in Riverdale was its similarity to Twilight because the series and the saga share the same atmosphere. In addition, returning to the television was a kind of test for him who had not played for a while. He wanted to know that he could still "have fun" by acting as an actor. The show arrived at the right moment, especially since it was an ambitious project. "We've taken those beloved characters that have been hijacked, which is something risky to do to comic fans, so we hoped people would like that kind of content and it took off." Explain. Now, he says he feels grateful to be part of a hit series like Riverdale, which was revealed to you in episode 7 of Season 2.
While Cole Sprouse revealed that it is easy to identify with the characters in the series because they are deliberately archetypes, the actor also returned to the evolution of Jughead in the season 2 of Riverdale. "I think Jughead is going through a difficult time because he's trying to figure out if he can be a tough guy, what he's going through is something that's understandable ... he's a victim of the circumstances that drove him to be part of actions he did not want to take part in, "he said. This "fragile kid is only 16 years old" and it is obviously complicated for him to handle the fact of "having a life in the North Side and a life in the South Side, which is not necessarily what he wanted.". When asked who he thinks is the true hero of Riverdale, Cole Sprouse replies, "I'd like to say it's Archie." However, for him it's not the way the show works at the narrative level. The genius of the show lies in the fact that it has created a Team and finally that each fan can choose the one who is his hero. The actor has his preference. "I really think it's Betty!" He admits.
Cole Sprouse thinks that the success of the show is due to the fact that the entire cast team gets along very well and that is reflected in the series. "The compatibility of cast members obviously lends itself to the success of the show and the personal relationships we have off the screen, this type of alchemy really speaks to the public and is nice to watch." The kindness and attitude when one come on the set and working with people we like can break the house, I think it's important for the actors to be nice and try to understand their colleagues and get along well with them because it makes the production on which one works of a better quality. ", he answered. The actor also spoke about the Bughead couple he appreciates enormously. "I like to see a relationship between two young adults with good communication and honesty, these kids have to deal with so much [...] the idea that they keep their heads on their shoulders, communicate openly and see their relationship as a force is something really cool to watch. It's nice, that's why I like them a lot but I think this Jughead season is going through a lot of things and it's a victim of circumstances like j What I did not really like in Season 1 was that people liked him without consequence, without thinking he had the capacity to be a dirty guy. ", a- he confessed.
Cole Sprouse recalls that in comics Jughead is a trickster, a scammer and in season 2, he returns to the origins of the character. This is not displeasing to him. The star also likes the more dramatic tone of Riverdale Season 2. "The dark side of season 2 is more interesting for me, it's more entertaining," he said. Cole Sprouse mentioned the arrival of Sabrina the apprentice witch, who could be interpreted by Selena Gomez in the spin-off Riverdale. The actor explained who did not yet know who would play the role but assured that "the person who deserves this role, will have the role," he explained. While everyone is wondering who the Black Hood is, Cole Sprouse replies, "Jughead is the murderer, I was also in season 1. I have my suspicions about the killer. having so many theories that now I do not think it's a person anymore, "he admitted. Finally, Cole Sprouse said he would like to see his character become the big bad of the series. "I think Jughead is on his way to becoming the bad guy and I think it would be really interesting [...] he's an angry, super aggressive kid, during the season he's going to make some really bad decisions, some decisions violent, "he concluded, adding that his character had all the qualities of a good villain since he is very intelligent and very strategic.
