oh my god there are SO MANY mods that separately let you do shit on horseback I'm honestly just cackling this part of the game was so badly designed that NO MOD CREATOR ALIVE LET IT GO UNCHANGED
oh I can't fucking BELIEVE I managed to find another mod that's under 2MB
So of course all skyrim mods are hosted on Nexus, and Nexus doesn't allow me to download any over 2MB without registering an account, and I can't register an account there because they have beef with Eastern Europe and have it blocked. Jesus fucking Christ. Assholes.
okay so while I did occasionally think 'wouldnt it be cool if Skyrim was more Sims-like and tracked needs and stuff, and also what's up with my character swimming through a river in blizzard and being perfectly okay'
I was not ready for a multitude of mods helping with exactly that problem
am I brave?
yep, of course this mod exists. I’m glad I can rely on the community to go ‘what the fuck’ before I do -_-
Ah yes, now I remember why I didn't think of Skyrim as a pretty game. That'd be because, while nicely rendered, it features a breathtaking color palette of grey, white, grey, a little black, grey, more grey, grey that's supposed to be blue, pale blue that's suposed to be purple, pale beige that's supposed to be yellow, pink that's supposed to be red, and sometimes an orange tint on all of it because LIGHTING.
Like, I get they were trying to be ~realistic~, except... THIS IS NOT FUCKING REALISTIC. I am sitting in a real-world-realistically-rendered room, and it's not even fucking furnished, yet even the dark brown of the fireplace bricks is more saturated than THIS ENTIRE FUCKING GAME. Like, why are WOODEN STRUCTURES grey??? Have developers never heard of warm colors? Of the fact that when outdoors looks grey, people start PAINTING SHIT??? Like... houses. Clothes. ALSO GREEN THERE CAN BE MANY SHADES OF GREEN IN PLACES THAT ARE NOT SNOW COVERED DO YOU KNOW HOW MANY SHADES OF GREEN EXIST IN NATURAL LANDSCAPES
(and where it's too wilted because of cold, THERE ARE YELLOW, ORANGE AND BROWN)
Ugh. Skyrim is the second game after Minecraft where I'm going to google cosmetic mods. Fucking seriously.
okay holy fucking shit how did i forget how breathtakingly beautiful Skyrim was like... I have played it, I even got to a fairly decent level... and the absolute wonder that is just gazing out at these landscapes somehow left no mark in my memory
either my aesthetic appreciation skills were just that bad back then, or my graphics settings were so low, NONE of this rendered (I mean... they are still fairly low ahaha)
no, I can not, in fact, hear the skyrim theme without hysterically giggling anymore
