Oh no. Not this video. This is sappy sentimental fluff that’s supposed to make me happy but it always tears my heart out. Mostly because of smiles like the one at the 2:04 mark. He beams so wide and then blinks and it fades away into that jaded almost sad thinking face that he does. Unfortunately the vid cuts most of it but you see it start. His entire face just sort of drops and is suddenly not happy too quickly. It makes me think about Avon as a whole by S4. That same sort of smile pops up a lot. I have feels guys.

I think I did a magnificent job on these, if I do say so myself. If you look at that unfinished picture, I SCORED THE PATTERN ON THE BELT MYSELF because Avon can't just have normal plain belts or anything and I get all OCD about it. I managed a sort-of approximation of the types of material belonging to each costume. You can't see it, but the paper on the Ovenready boots is kind of matte deep brown, and all the studs are silver. The shoulders on the studded black one are all shiny like leather. This is the problem with paper art, it looks best in the flesh.

If I have one regret it's that the sparkly red that makes the under-part of the Lobster is more yellow-red than blue-red and there is GLUE showing on the Computer Samurai which is my pet hate. I'm about to apply fake blood to the final Blake costume which fills me with anxiety because it could go WRONG.

The ultimate question is what colour to back them on, and what nice design I could use. Should I put a text description on them all? Episodes they were in? A description of the character at that point, or nothing at all? No text? I was going to do a sort of geometric design of Zen's lights in the background but now I'm fretting. What should I do apart from go on that devil-site Pinterest to steal people's paper ideas?

Apparently, or according to Paul at least, it was thanks to Gareth that he ended up wearing so much leather/those infamous hooker boots:

“I got a call from June asking if I objected to wearing leather, and I said no, not at all. On the way in the cab to a fitting, she said she mentioned to Gareth that she would like him in leather and thigh-length boots, and he had said he didn’t think it was right for Blake, but he knew just the person for whom it would be perfect. I made a mental note to bash Gareth. It was all his fault! As it happened, leather is the most comfortable stuff to wear, and if you’re filming during winter, it’s very warm. If you’re out in Betchworth Quarry in the middle of November, it’s wonderful, and it stretches and it’s comfortable. So in the end I was quite happy. I was, however, a little reluctant to wear the thigh-length boots.”

How much would you pay to see him try to "bash" Gareth

Oh only about as much as I'm spending on autographs at the moment (hint: a lot)

(once again Gareth proves he has remarkable sense for the way the series should proceed)
