intro post

hello! my name is evan and i'm a theology student from greece.

the main purpose of this blog is to serve as an online altar for my gods and to maybe, occasionally, post about things i'm learning while studying theology.

------------------------------------

gods i mainly worship: apollo, dionysus, hestia, (but i worship and honour the whole hellenic pantheon)

------------------------------------

you'll likely see some christian stuff here as well since i'm an ex-orthodox & i have a complicated relationship with christianity. i also love jesus but i don't worship him.

------------------------------------

pronouns: he/him

(i follow from my main blog @biblicallyaccuratetranny )

dni: if you meet the basic dni criteria (queerphobic, ableist, racist, exclusionist, terf/radfem, zionist, supremacist of any kind), if you're a non-greek person that thinks you can "re-claim" greek mythology & change the ancient greek religion as you please without respecting its history (yes, this is an open religion that doesn't mean you don't have to respect it).

my dms are open, i love talking with fellow pagans about our practices (& more)!!

Hellenic Offerings

Now, I'm sure there's millions of posts talking about offerings so I'm definitely not covering new ground giving massive offering lists. Instead, I'm going to list offerings that are usually safe bets. Obviously I can't speak for every God or worshiper but from looking at ancient worship, current practices, and small amounts of UPG, this is a fairly reliable list of universally accepted offerings for all the Greek Gods

  • Flowers of any kind
  • Bay laurel
  • Wine
  • Water
  • Bread or baked goods of any kind
  • Incense of any kind
  • Candles
  • Olive oil
  • Teas
  • Honey
  • Milk
  • Coffee
  • Orphic or Homeric Hymns about them
