I had an entire day of painting and I decided I wanted to paint Annatar from The Harrowing by Chthonion, because he is a very expressive character and therefore very fun to draw :D

Here's some close ups~

These are all somewhat paraphrased btw-

For a general idea, picture one (top left), can be applied to pretty much any scene where Annatar has a cup of tea, the one to the right of that is a representation of Annatar's thought processes during chapter 39.

Next row- we have Annatar after his nightmare and subsequent language mishaps, valiantly fending off any attempts to call up the actual master healer in the house- and next to that Annatar's Look™ which anyone who upsets people who are important to him (looking at you- names starting with C) have been on the receiving end of.

And on the row below that we have Annatar laughing for once (because I saw all the other pictures I had done and decided I needed at least one picture of him smiling), which is directly after Frodo plays that card in association- and the one next to that is pretty obvious, Annatar making tea when Finrod's upset and he's not sure how to handle it. Then the last one is from chapter 39 (again), and I think Maedhros was more like 'is that food?' but eh. The feeling is the same~ (even if Annatar had to think about it before he decided he could actually say it).

Just as an interesting comparison exercise,

Murder. Very competent fighting-wise. The colour red. Betrayal. Small children. Bad circumstances. Prison. Friend who saves you from said 'prisoner' status 3 months or 30 yrs later- (both multiples of 3 funnily enough~>:D) Dislike of authority? (or was that more Feanor? eh. Governments, Valar, eh. same thing-)

Read a certain light novel recently~

I have a lot of pictures in my 'random stage plays' folder. So here's some stuff from Moriarty the Patriot. Cause I can. And yes. I am avoiding my colouring responsibilities, but lineart is so much quicker~

Was watching random lotr meme compilations, and got reminded of another short and tall duo~

Ever heard of a fic called Dermabrasion? Well, if you haven't, and it's a really good mha todoroki fic, (just gonna paste the fic premise thingy)

-Shouto spends his time drifting until he hears some general course students talking about a vigilante from a few years ago who had blue flames.

Shouto only knows two people who can use blue flames. One of them is Endeavour and the other is dead.-

YEAH

So. If you wanna read it, it's Dermabrasion by pennydaniels. It is like 410,000 words, but that's a plus in my opinion. It's also finished. And it took over my brain for a good two weeks so all you guys are hearing about it.

Anyway. Big art improvement here, I had an artistic break-through of sorts, and it's kind of obvious, but that's just how life happens I guess. Eh. The main character's still the same so that's enough consistency I reckon.

There are a couple of kind of non-sequitur's in here, but since I did this over an extended period of time, I probably just didn't bother leading with a directly correlating narration line, since some of these were drawn like, a week/month or so apart.

Gonna put these in four segments, since I don't want to know what actually posting 30 pictures at once does to tumblr's image processing. This is pictures 1-15

This took me a while, but it was definitely worth it.

It's not based on an outfit she actually wears btw- it's more of an amalgamation of clothes/hairstyles I liked the look of.

There's just something satisfying about drawing with an actual pencil.

I use a mechanical pencil btw, but this was just on y'know, your average printer paper and I kind of prefer that stuff cause it's easier to rub things out on.

Anyway. It worked.
