Rozemyne~ because I could. :D
I had an entire day of painting and I decided I wanted to paint Annatar from The Harrowing by Chthonion, because he is a very expressive character and therefore very fun to draw :D
Here's some close ups~
These are all somewhat paraphrased btw-
For a general idea, picture one (top left), can be applied to pretty much any scene where Annatar has a cup of tea, the one to the right of that is a representation of Annatar's thought processes during chapter 39.
Next row- we have Annatar after his nightmare and subsequent language mishaps, valiantly fending off any attempts to call up the actual master healer in the house- and next to that Annatar's Look™ which anyone who upsets people who are important to him (looking at you- names starting with C) have been on the receiving end of.
And on the row below that we have Annatar laughing for once (because I saw all the other pictures I had done and decided I needed at least one picture of him smiling), which is directly after Frodo plays that card in association- and the one next to that is pretty obvious, Annatar making tea when Finrod's upset and he's not sure how to handle it. Then the last one is from chapter 39 (again), and I think Maedhros was more like 'is that food?' but eh. The feeling is the same~ (even if Annatar had to think about it before he decided he could actually say it).
@chthonion >:)
Did some more painting this morning. It's raining where I am rn, so here's Ranpo with wet weather gear~
Did some watercolour painting today :)
Got back into Avatar the Last Airbender recently and wanted to draw stuff from it. This is a re-imagining of a scene from a kdrama called Goblin, because the conversation was so funny I couldn't help myself-
You ever do something and you're like, "huh. I did not know I could do that"
That was me with this picture 😂
Here's what I was copying if you're curious-
Decided it was about time I faced my fears head on... Foreshortening. I am coming for you. >:D
BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA
Guess who just made another Silmarillion animatic~ >:D
I DID! BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA-
(this is based on the premise of Maglor recovering at Rivendell and not being a fan of the whole 'therapy/counselling' idea that Elrond just keeps on bringing up-)
Spent a lot of the afternoon doodling~ I love these two :D
Rozemyne definitely has more methods, but this is a ~sample~ :D
The bottom half of that first panel is an example of what my sketchbook looks like 😂 (absolute chaos)
Edward. As an elf. (probably noldor 'cause of the 'into crafting' thing they got going on)-
Here's some more wild crossover stuff, I was originally gonna post this with the other Techno and Maedhros thing, but I didn't feel like waiting till I'd finished both of them >:D
Just as an interesting comparison exercise,
Murder. Very competent fighting-wise. The colour red. Betrayal. Small children. Bad circumstances. Prison. Friend who saves you from said 'prisoner' status 3 months or 30 yrs later- (both multiples of 3 funnily enough~>:D) Dislike of authority? (or was that more Feanor? eh. Governments, Valar, eh. same thing-)
That's all I can think of rn
:D
I know this might seem like a wild crossover, but so far as I'm concerned it makes perfect sense. >:D
Dazai told Kunikida it was for 'team building'. This is the moment of realisation-
btw if you're curious what wild picture I used for a reference-
It's this! :D
Dunno what (presumably a kdrama) it's from, but I saw it and was like, 'I can totally imagine this as bsd characters.
So that was my drawing practice for the day :)
Ye.
Rozemyne's not having a great day... :)
A day in the life of taking care of hyperactive elflings~
So y'see, I forgot Orodreth existed up until I had kind of finished this thing, so in case you're curious, here's the original-
Guess who just connected the dots on who was who in a certain series?
So first time through I was like, Galadriel has a brother? (this was me 'pre silmarillion knowledge power up') and I was scrolling through random lotr and rings of power memes the other day (as you do, some of the stuff out there is Hilarious~ gotta get inspiration from somewhere, y'know?) and I was looking at this guy.... And going... 'Wait a minute. Galadriel's brother... Don't tell me... This is.. FINROD?!
*pauses to recalibrate~
:0:0:0
Now. Let me make one thing clear. I actually do like the Rings of power series (if you think of it like, 'someone got a huge budget for their fanfic!' then it's pretty cool/funny - especially if you watch it with fellow Tolkien fans, cause then you can be mock outraged in company~)
But. Finrod. 'killed a werewolf with his bare hands' Felagund. Deserved better. *wipes away imaginary tear~
Honestly I don't really care about the characterisation too much- it was the hair part that made me redirect my passion into making this. Like. My mental image of Finrod isn't necessarily a stern warrior type who is incredibly wise and would never say things like 'you gotta think positive! That's what makes ships float guys!' (wonder how well that worked crossing the Helcara- *ahem - moving on) but it does include long flowing golden locks. I... I just can't imagine him without the hair~
And thus this 'comparison' was born~
Also I thought drawing all the siblings teasing Galadriel (since she is the youngest sibling), would be funny.
:D
Been doing some sketching lately~ I have the Silmarillion on the brain~
This last one is evidence of the sad fact of smudging that occurs with soft lead in a well travelled sketchbook~
(which I could fix by removing the page or applying setting spray, but I haven't bothered 😅)
Also-
That one with Maedhros standing next to a young lady with hobbit on her other side- is from when I was reading through What the hell is happening? By Leader_in_red? And I was thinking 'what would the height difference actually be? If Maedhros is 7 ft tall, Hazel is normal human height, and then we have hobbits in the mix-
Anyway,
I don't think I got the heights quite right, but it was fun trying to imagine just how insanely tall Maedhros actually is. (he's not weirdly tall by elf standards if you look at the elf average height which is around six feet, but still. I like height differences. It's just so fun to draw :)
I think 'Leader in red' was the username. If it isn't I'll just edit this later :)
