Another thing I don't get whatsoever why do you guys despise it's nice to have a friend I constantly see it compared to London boy, me!, the man like it's not one of the best love songs on lover like what are you guys not getting
School bell rings walk me home side walk chalk covered in snow lost my gloves you give me one ... video games you pass me a note sleeping in tents it's nice to have a friend ... 20 questions we tell you the truth you've been stressed out lately yeah me too something gave you the nerve to touch my hand ... church bells ring carry me home rice on the ground looks like snow call my bluff call me babe have my back yeah every day feels like home ... its nice to have a friend
The innocence, intimacy and the tenderness in this song..... the way the song isn't wordy at all but the word choice is perfect and conveys SUCH love in a few lines (lost my glove you gave me one, have my back yeah every day, feels like home), the way she tells decades of ppl's lives in a few verses starting with them being childhood friends and ending with their wedding, the callbacks to the first verse in the last (side walk chalk covered in snow, rice on the ground looks like snow)
