Morag Ladair (Xenoblade Chronicles 2) - Anime Expo 2018!

The debut of my Morag cosplay! I barely manage to get this wearable late the night before, but it was so worth it! It was a lot of fun to wear with our Xenoblade group and at the Xenoblade gathering, despite it being the hottest day at 107F. The Xenoblade gathering was awesome, its the first gathering for the series I’ve been to and I was so happy at how many people braved the heat to join us! It was one of the highlights of the convention for me. Everyone’s cosplays were amazing, and there was another Morag cosplayer!! I hope to get the chance to have another Xenoblade gathering in the future! Though my Morag cosplay needs a lot of fixes and improvements before then lol.

NEVER LET ME COSPLAY SOMETHING THIS COMPLICATED EVER AGAIN.

and with that Elma is pretty much done aside from a few fixes here and there, with time to spare before Armageddon this month, phew. It’s pretty sloppy in some places which thankfully you can’t see in these low res pictures (thank goodness) but I’m still pretty happy with this.

Finally got a picture of my Shulk cosplay from back during megacon. I finished everything but below the knees, and besides that, it turned out great!

Long Beach Comic Con- Melia Antiqua Stella Armor

Had a fun time in this cosplay, and got a lot of positive reactions. No one seemed to recognize me, but that’s alright. People seemed impressed by it anyways XD It was pretty hot and miserable to wear in the humidity, and I’m still sore. But I had a great time and was proud to compete with it in the cosplay contest! And the staff, though heavy, didn’t break and held up really well!

Anime Expo 2015 Day 3- Xenoblade

I actually ran into a few Shulks that day, which was awesome! There was budget Shulk, Shulk with a light up sword, and of course, swimsuit Shulk. It was awesome. Too bad I couldn;t get them all together with the Meyneth and Zanza. That would have been awesome to see so many Xenoblade cosplayers! Especially when they year before, I was the only one. Maybe I should try to organize a cosplay meet next year, huh? XD

I need help finding the cosplayers here. The Shulk in the bottom pictures I did have the tumblr for, but I can’t seem to find it now.

Anime Expo 2015 Day 3- Xenoblade

This was definitely the best day ever! I was hoping I’d see a Shulk around, but I was never expecting to see Meyneth and Zanaza! So when they walked into the cosplay repair station  when we were sitting there, I freaked out! I was so excited to see them, especially after not getting the Shulk’s picture that I had seen the day before. It seriously made my day!

Unfortunately I don’t know who these amazing cosplayers are, but I’d really like to know so I can give them credit here.

Anime Expo 2015 Day 3- Melia Antiqua Stella Armor

I was super excited to wear this costume today, and ever hopeful to see other Xenoblade cosplayers. This is by far one of my best cosplays, and my first time doing armor and using worbla. It was a lot of fun to wear,  and fairly comfortable except when being worn for long long periods of time. But I’m super proud of how it all came out, and am looking forward to my next chance to wear it. Though next time I’ll make a new staff.

WIP Drones Part One

WIP post part one: Drone wings and vacuum forming.

Today I will explain how I made my drones for my seven armor.

Fist off I print out a pepakura file of the drones on cardstock paper. The textures are edited and cleaned for the printer. A second one is printed on normal paper for reference.

Here I reinforce the cardstock with resin and woven PET fibers. Its like the same as glassfiber but easier to handle.

Now the shapes, with the use of the reference pepakura print, are drawn on PVC panels, graved with a dremel and cutted out. (white things on the left) Sorry I made no pictures of this!

The panels are shaped on the resin master form with a heat gun.

The edges are smoothed with resin putty and sanded.

Details glued in.

The form is cutted to fit in the vacuum machine.

The finished forms! For the vacuum forming I use Vivak. Thats the stuff that is used for plastic water bottles (PET).

First pull, not so perfect…

All stuff that is used for the drones, in the middle of painting. The parts will be painted on the inside. For the paint I use Revell color for the blue, black and gold. After that I spray metallic white paint for polycabonate, it works for vivak too and is very flexible! 

Now I paint white water based paint on the back, that prevents transparency and let the colors shine.

The halves are put together.

So here is the finished drone fairing. The next step is acrylic glass and get them in motion with servos. Stay tuned!

This year I entered for the fist time, this was something very new to me but Im so glade that I entered, I met some amazing friends and learned a few new tricks.

To top it all off I Won best in class: Novice! and Creative use of materials!

Getting back on tumblr only to realize I never put up Shulk pictures

Pic was taken by my friend Fran when we met at Nintendo World for the Xenoblade release! ! ;-;

This was my finished Fiora ( Xenoblade) Cosplay.

Then whole thing took four months to make, I used EVA foam, plastic garbage bins, PlastiDip, White spray paint and much more. Both me and my dad put a lot off blood, sweat and tears into this Cosplay and I’m so happy with how it turned out! 

Cosplay update

I decided to go to Dokomi this weekend with my new Seven armor! I finished it finally but without the weapons. They will be finished later. I am so sorry I couldn’t post some WIPs, but I will after the con.

The Ardi drones are finished too, but they need some adjustment, so I will wear them only a limited time.
