Back from Long Beach Comic Expo! I’ll get around to posting pictures soon, but for now have these of me with the figure I bought! The seller called it After Dark Miku, though I can’t find an actual name on the box.
As for the convention, it was a lot of fun! Saturday I went as Colette. That was the cosplay I competed in the contest with. Unfortunately, while walking around the floor I turned around a little too fast and bumped into Alex, snapping a piece off. My dad says it was probably a bad solder, as it otherwise should have just bent. Long story short, I have to completely tear off the cellophane and EL wire to fix the frame. Which, tbh I guess gives me an excuse to redo it, as I know I can make it better. But now, what color of EL wire should I go with??
Sunday I almost didn’t go, but I’m so glad I did. I went as 50s style Miku. I lasted in the heels I had for about 2 hours, and then had to switch to the much more comfortable shoes above. Though, I don’t think the heels helped with my knee, which was really painful with walking. Not at all sure what I did to it, and it still hurts especially when walking down stairs. Anyways, I was surprised at how much attention I got, as I thought I would only get one or two photos. Made me feel pretty good about the dress that gave me so much trouble. Now I just need to get a nice and fluffy petticoat as the one we made kind of fell short. Also not sure on the makeup. Personally, I don;t think it all worked together, mainly the eye shadow. I used the same blue I did for Snow Miku over the purple I have. I don’t know what it was about it, it just didn’t look good to me. But maybe its simply that I have no idea how to put on makeup.
Now that LBCE is over, its time to really start working on my cosplays for Wondercon. If all goes well, I’ll have both my Inkling + Gold Dynamo Roller done, as well as Celica.
