Anime Expo day 3- Vocaloid: Miku Hatsune (50s dress)

Check out my Cosplay page on Facebook!

I was originally going to wear Celica for Sunday, but after the bad time we had on Saturday I decided it wasn’t worth it. Instead I decided to go with my Miku cosplay since there was a Vocaloid meet that day anyways. Unfortunately all I had was a phone camera (that later crapped out on me) so these aren’t as nice as ones before. But, I’m just thankful they aren’t a blurry mess, like many of them ended up being. Luckily Sunday was so much better than Saturday was, so I’ll be heading back to AX next year! Sunday was actually enjoyable, with a good amount of cosplayers too. Still very crowded, but not to the point Saturday was, so it was tolerable and not at all stressful. Too bad Saturday wasn’t like that. I hope they improve things for next year, such as better organization, better layout, and especially better communication (especially with your attendees).

Anime Expo 2016- Inkling and Gold Dynamo Roller (Splatoon)

Check out my Cosplay page on Facebook!

I went as an Inkling in the Squid Girl outfit with my Gold Dynamo Roller on Saturday. I used a different style for the wig than last time actually sewing in the tentacles to a wig, and my ink tank is actually a backpack! Gold Dynamo got repainted and actually finished too, and I’m very pleased with how it came out! The Roller is heavy and bulky to carry around, but so worth it. I got a lot of attention with my Roller, and got called Squid Girl a lot too. I also went to the Splatoon meet which was super fun! All the other cosplayers were super nice, and we had fun with a few silly pics. Really hoping someone posts pics of the Roller group shot, since our photographer stopped taking pictures after a while.

However, Saturday was pretty bad. So bad, we considered not going again next year. What happened was we had to wait an hour to get off the off ramp, which is like a mile long at most. It was ridiculous. Plus, we could see the line to get the badge from there. It must have been over a two hour wait, partly in the sun. And that was on top of AX’s poor handling of my sister’s request for a professional badge (which she was eligible for last year, mind you). There were simply too many people, and AX did not prepare enough to handle them all. They were amazing last year, so no idea what happened this year. But they better step up their game, or start limiting the number of badges they sell, cause the area simply can’t handle it at the pace its growing. I really hope next year is better.
