You have a lot of nerve to compare Miranda to Vivienne. Miranda is at least genuinelly good on her intentions. She even quits Cerberus when she realizes what they really are. What is Vivienne apart from an self serving jerk? She doesn't give a shit about her peers. So long as she is good and on top, they can suffer all day. Vivienne deserves all the hate she gets.

i’m so sick of people spewing the ~vivenne only cares about herself~ bullshit because it’s so obvious that people that say those things have never taken her on a lot of quests, or explored dialogue options with her. did you know vivienne is the only companion (aside from varric) to approve if you stop to save all the villagers during in your heart shall burn? or that she’s visibly upset if she’s in your group when you find out what happened to the tranquil? and that she comforts and reassures you if you express grief over what happened in haven?

yes, vivienne wants power. i know that female characters that actively strive for positions of power (cough queen anora cough) are not regarded highly, but i think it says a lot more about you if your first reaction to a female character fighting for what she wants is ‘well she’s a power hungry bitch.’ and that’s so far from what vivienne’s goals are. so much of her dialogue revolves around protecting mages and bringing peace back to thedas. one of my favorite banters is when she says that she could help every person she crosses along her way, and in the end accomplish nothing - she’s focused on the big picture. vivienne didn’t become the enchanter to the imperial court by wearing her heart on her sleeve, she’s not good at the game by letting everyone know what she wants. she is ruthless and nonchalant about a lot of things, but literally all she’s trying to do is put herself into a position where she can do the most to help thedas
