My friend was telling me about how many books she’s read this year and how excited she was to get her next book. When she was describing how she was going to obtain the book she said
“So Libby tells when the hold is up and then the book is available. I usually get a message about it.”
And it sounded so strange I had this image of her getting messages in a facebook group about banned books. They would like pass around books and do stuff in secret, and I thought Libby was the name of the group:
“Libby?….Like a secret underground book trading place? Do you text each other?”
“…….Libby is the public library.”

I’ve been here for fourteen years, do you think I remember? I don’t know who any of these people are anymore. I don’t know why they’re on my dash. I allow them to stay because they haven’t pissed me off enough to unfollow them yet. “Why did you follow this person?” I’m not sure I ever did. They’re just part of my ecosystem now.
