Nestled within the heart of Batumi Boulevard there is a Poultry House. In its two large enclosures, you can see an array of domestic birds, including peacocks, swans, geese, and various breeds of ducks.
Another tiny piece of paradise at the secret corner of the Batumi botanical garden.
After a storm, on the rocky beach of Batumi, you can find a lot of interesting things - driftwood, walnuts, remnants of algae and broken shells - all mixed with colourful minerals from the local mountains.
Yellow poppies in green grass look like little suns! 🌞🌞🌞
In the summer heat, trees offer life-saving shade and refreshing coolness. Their leafy canopies create a sanctuary, allowing people and mosquitos alike to find relief 😅
Just look who we saw at the "Place" Cafe in Batumi! Cora-san and Law were so engrossed in discussing their future journey that we had plenty of time to draw them!
The most delicious tangerines are the ones you pick from the branch with your own hands! And how beautiful they are... ripening just before Christmas, by the end of January, they've already fallen into the winter grass, unless, of course, their assiduous owners packed them away in boxes before then.
Play the game and find all the sparrows hiding in the tangle of branches!
(Spring has come to Batumi, birds are looking for a mate. Very very soon the wisteria will be covered with flowers, and then we will see nothing!)
A minute of botany. Camphor tree or camphor laurel is one of the evergreen trees growing on the streets of Batumi. We love the bizarre shapes of their trunks and their fantastic growth rate. (before our eyes, small seedlings turned into small trees in a year and a half).
❤ The splendour of the Batumi courtyard ❤
Every time it stops raining in Batumi, all residents do laundry at once and decorate their balconies with garlands of colourful linen. We have been collecting photos since we arrived in Georgia)
Gonio stronghold is fifteen km south of Batumi. It was built by the Romans, in the first century AD.
A wonderful open-air museum, but our favourite is the green alley in the middle of the fortress)
The road between Batumi and Tbilisi just after the rain.
We've just found copious hydrangeas bushes in Batumi Botanical Garden, on the hidden slope, far from tourist roads. They are unreal vibrant colours; from violet to ultra-marine. As you know, they can change the shades depending on the soil acidity. What colour are your favourite hydrangeas? Pink or blue? In Batumi, we mostly meet deep blue with a few white ones.
From the Batumi pond yard, we have two lively geese. They scold quarrelling ducks, chase guinea fowl, and bicker with the dogs guarding the fence. They are our favourites! Because they have the most personality among the pond residents)
It's more than a year since we arrived in Batumi, and it's still a feast for our eyes. Mountains, The Black Sea, the lush vegetation, the vivid hues, and the exotic palms and flowers! And Koi carps! (We worried if they would be okay in the cold winter, but they made it!)
